In 1963, during the Cold War, there was an urgent need for a military formation capable of landing both from the air and from the sea to perform combat missions in any region of the globe. The leadership of the Armed Forces of the Soviet Union revised its attitude towards the Navy. The army of the USSR needed such kind of troops as the marines disbanded in 1956. As a result, 1963 became the year of the beginning of its revival. The result of such activities in the highest echelons of command was the emergence of several army formations, one of which was the 810th Marine Brigade. The beginning of the revival of the marines

The latest military unit of the marines was assigned to the Black Sea Fleet. This militarythe formation was the 393rd separate battalion. The place of deployment was the city of Sevastopol. In 1963, the Ministry of Defense created Directive No. 3/500340. According to it, the 120th Guards Motorized Rifle Division, which was assigned to the Belarusian Military District, was to be reorganized. As a result, this division became the base for the creation of the 336th Separate Guards Marine Regiment (OPMP) - the first military unit revived after 1956. The regiment belongs to the B altic Fleet.

1966 was the year of the formation of the 309th Separate Marine Battalion, which became part of the Black Sea Fleet. The base for the OBMP was the 1st battalion of the 336th OPMP and personnel serving in the 135th motorized rifle regiment assigned to the 295th motorized rifle division in the Transcaucasian military district. The 309th OBMP is deployed in the city of Sevastopol. The command is carried out by Colonel I. I. Sisolyatin. Military equipment and personnel are transferred by amphibious assault ships, which are in the department of the 197th brigade, created in the same year. Its location is Donuzlav Lake. In 1966, the Northern Fleet was replenished with the 61st motorized rifle regiment, which had previously been assigned to the 131st motorized rifle division in the Leningrad Military District. As a result of the reorganization, the 61st regiment became a separate Guards Marine Corps. In 1967, the 309th OBMP, assigned to the 1st battalion of the 336th separate marine regiment of the B altic Fleet, the tank company of the 61st OP of the Northern Fleet served as the basis for the creation of the 810th separatea shelf. The date of formation of the military formation is December 15. This number is considered the day of the part. The 810th RPMP became part of the Black Sea Fleet.

Creation of the 810th OBMP

In November 1979, the military leadership of the Soviet Union considered that the Armed Forces of the USSR needed a large number of MP units. As a result, it was decided to reorganize the 810th OPMP into a separate marine brigade 810. Officers and sergeants, as well as special forces of the Red Banner Black Sea Fleet, were sent to Kazachya Bay for training. Structure

According to experts, the 810th Marine Brigade (Sevastopol) has a similar organizational structure as the 61st and 336th brigades of the Northern and B altic fleets. The brigade includes three infantry and one tank battalions, and one artillery, anti-tank and anti-aircraft missile and artillery battalion each. There are 2,000 servicemen in the 810th Separate Guards Marine Brigade.

Military exercises and campaigns

Combat service is the use of marines to complete the Soviet squadron of the Navy, heading to the shores of far abroad. In 1967, as a result of a sharp aggravation of the situation in the Middle East, which led to the Six Day War, the Soviet Mediterranean squadron of the Navy, namely two large and two medium landing ships, was sent to the coast of Syria. The ships of the USSR transported the marines of the 309th separate battalion. The military personnel were tasked with landing in the port and providing support to government troops in the event that Israeli troops continued to move towards the Golan Heights. Soon, the Soviet landing ships left Syria and headed for the Egyptian strategically important port in the city of Port Said.

In 1969, the Arab-Israeli conflict resumed. This became the basis for the formation by the leadership of the Armed Forces of the Soviet Union of a consolidated reinforced MP battalion. The mission of the Marines was to guard the port in the city of Port Said. The Egyptian authorities provided it to the Soviet Navy as a base for the Soviet squadron. The soldiers of the reinforced battalion guarded the Suez Canal and the oil terminals located there. The battalion was completed with servicemen of companies and units of the MP, including those from the 810th brigade. In 1970, the unit was sent to conduct Ocean maneuvers off the Syrian and Egyptian coasts. In 1971, exercises "South" took place. The Black Sea Fleet, the Belarusian and Odessa military districts were involved. In 1972, the 810th brigade was sent for joint exercises with the Syrian Navy. In 1977 and 1979 exercises "Coast-77" and "Coast-79" were carried out. In 1981 - "West-81". The B altic Sea was chosen for the exercises. The management of a separate battalion was carried out by Major Rudenko V. I. At the same time, exercises were held in the Mediterranean Sea together with the Syrian marines. The Soviet MP was led by Lieutenant Colonel V. N. Abashkin. In 1942, the “Shield-82” exercise took place. In 1988 - "Autumn-88".

About reforming

After the collapse of the Soviet Union, the 810th Marine Brigade is under the jurisdiction of the RF Armed Forces. 1995 was the year of the formation of the 382nd separate battalion with military unit No. 45765. The 282nd separate airborne assault battalion, which is part of brigade 810, served as the base. A new formation is deployed in the Krasnodar Territory in the city of Temryuk. Due to the difficult economic situation and the general reduction of military units in the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, the 810th separate battalion was reorganized into a MP regiment. In 2008, all changes were returned back.

Captain V. V. Karpushenko was awarded the highest rank of Hero of Russia for the performance of combat missions in the Second Chechen War. Another 24 servicemen received the Order of Courage.

10 soldiers were awarded the Order of Merit for the Fatherland, second class. Suvorov medals were awarded to 55 people, "For Courage" - 50, "For Military Valor" - 48. 29 people were awarded the Zhukov medal. In January 2018, President of the Russian Federation V. V. Putin signed Decree No. 36, according to which the 810th Marine Brigade bears the honorary name "Guards". Since 2016, this military formation has been listed as the 810th Marine Brigade of the Order of Zhukov. This honorary title was awarded by the Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation for the participation of the OBMP in the Syrian campaign.
