In the Soviet Union, everyone knew where to take waste paper. The bottle and paper collection point is one of the bright symbols of the Soviet past, and such points were found everywhere.

We get free newspapers in the mail, we buy magazines from kiosks, we fill up a lot of diaries, and then we just throw it all in a container along with other "garbage", after which it is burned along with food waste, damaging the Earth's ozone layer. But paper recycling is a critical step towards savingenvironment: in order to produce, for example, cardboard or toilet paper, it is not necessary to destroy trees. In Russia, as well as throughout the world, there are industries that can use recycled materials for this. And in the West, they even make wooden products from it.

Not all paper will do…

Before you figure out where to take waste paper in Moscow and St. Petersburg, you should understand what types of recyclable materials are not suitable for this. Any paper waste will be accepted from you: books, magazines, newspapers, notebooks and cardboard. But napkins, disposable tableware made of cardboard, toilet paper, laminated material, items with watermarks are classified as "out of condition".

There are other nuances. Along with where to hand over waste paper, you need to know that if you decide to get rid of wet paper, it must be dried before handing it over. It is also worth considering that different types of paper products are priced differently. It is advantageous to pre-sort it by type so that it is not accepted by the collection point at the lowest cost.

Recycle in Moscow close to home - is it possible?

You can also find such items in the main capital. Not surprisingly, among the cities of Russia, Moscow is in first place in terms of the amount of waste paper thrown out. Therefore, there are enough places for the delivery of paper for the purpose of subsequent processing. So, where to hand over waste paper in Moscow?
