Actress Olga Smirnova was born in early October 1983 in Yekaterinburg. As a child, she was seriously fond of sports: figure skating, acrobatics. However, her real passion was ballroom dancing.
At the age of thirteen, her parents brought the girl to the Yekaterinburg Center for Contemporary Art, where she studied modern dance. After receiving a diploma, the girl decided to enter the Institute of Physical Education. However, studying was so uninteresting that after the 2nd year she left the university. All this time, dancing was present in her life: she went with the team to international competitions, performed both classics and modern types of dances. Olga seriously thought about linking her career with dancing.
How it all began
But fate decreed otherwise. Once Olga Smirnova, along with a dance group, was invited to take part in the Golden Mask festival. The performance was accompanied by dancing. Afterperformances, the troupe left for Yekaterinburg, and Olga remained in the capital, she set herself the goal of entering the theater institute by all means. And she did. The future actress was admitted to GITIS at the directing department. The girl got into the workshop of Oleg Kudryashov. There she met her future husband. A year after receiving her diploma, Olga began acting in films.
Her film debut was as Bob's girlfriend in the acclaimed 2007 film Stilyagi. But this is a cameo. But recognition came thanks to her role in Dostoevsky, a multi-part film directed by Vladimir Khotinenko. Olga Smirnova played in it the beloved of Fyodor Mikhailovich - Apollinaria Suslova. The image of the girl turned out to be ambiguous. Critics argued: was it acceptable to expose the breasts in the frame, was Suslova really such a fatal woman as she appeared before the viewer in the series. The creators of the picture assured at press conferences that the image was recreated as authentically as possible from historical sources.
