Exactly six years this year since the terrible tragedy in the capital's subway. On March 29, there was an explosion at the Lubyanka station and, after it, at the Park of Culture. The horrendous number of victims of those events shocked the entire world community. Monday morning claimed more than 40 lives, and about 100 people were seriously injured. Among the victims were not only Russian citizens, but also residents from the Philippines, Malaysia, Israel and neighboring Asian countries. The funeral took place on April 1, while Moscow was not the only city where the relatives of the victims mourned. 16 phone numbers were sent to other regions (Rostov-on-Don, Chekhov, Sevastopol, Yakutsk, Tajikistan)

The explosion in the Lubyanka and Park Kultury metro stations belonging to the Sokolnicheskaya line of the Moscow metro, as later established by the investigation, was carried out by terrorists.

Begin investigation

On the same day, the Prosecutor's Office of the Russian Federation opened criminal cases, each of which was qualified as a terrorist act.

Double terrorist attack inthe Moscow metro at Lubyanka and Park Kultury were combined into a single production during the investigation. The first version of the detectives was a guess about the coordinated planned work of the suicide bombers. A few hours after the incident, the media leaked information about the assumptions of the authorities. In addition, the investigation considered the following as one of the evidence that the explosions were carried out with the aim of a more tragic outcome. Both explosive devices went off when the stations were as crowded as possible. And since modern technologies give a lot of opportunities, including criminals, it is most likely that the explosions in the Moscow metro Lubyanka and Park Kultury occurred when the device was turned on using mobile phones.

Organized crime group

That terrible day gathered almost all representatives of law enforcement agencies in one place. Also there were numerous ambulance teams, cynologists with dogs, sappers, firefighters. Thanks to the joint efforts of several structures, the investigating authorities managed to find concrete evidence confirming the involvement of female suicide bombers in the tragedy.

However, one thing was clear: to carry out the attacks on the Lubyanka and Park Kultury metro stations on March 29, 2010, accomplices helped the terrorists.

The female suicide bombers are the main characters

Some doubts about this terrible case were dispelled thanks to CCTV cameras installed on the platform. Received face imagesconfirmed that two young women took over the function of lethal execution. They clearly showed that both terrorists, who staged an explosion in the Lubyanka and Park Kultury metro stations, were no more than 25 years old. Dressed in dark clothes and dressed in headscarves, they tried to hide their faces, which betrayed their Caucasian nationality. It also became known that on the eve of the tragic incident, a strange call rang out in one of the police stations. A woman, a resident of the capital, stated that she became an accidental witness to a conversation between Chechens at the Konkovo metro station, who were discussing the organization of the explosions. However, despite the immediate reaction of law enforcement officers, a squad with cynologists who went to the alleged place of the large-scale crime could not find anything suspicious.

Who is to blame?

Soon, one explanation after another followed. Two days later, a video with the participation of Doku Umarov, one of the wanted terrorists in Chechnya, hit the net. In his video message, he officially stated that the explosions in the metro at the Lubyanka and Park Kultury stations were organized by his subordinate group, arguing his illegal actions as revenge for the recent February events in Ingushetia. Then the federal Russian troops carried out an anti-terrorist operation in the villages of Datykh and Arshty, in which one of the illegal gangs was destroyed and four residents were killed. At the same time, it should be noted that the refutation was not long in coming.

Literally a few hours later, the journalists of the First Caucasian Channel in Georgia got a recording in which Umarov allegedly denied the authenticity of his previous speech and completely removes responsibility for the explosion in the Lubyanka and Park Kultury metro stations. As experts later found out, this audio recording was not real, the voice of the person on it did not belong to the wanted Umarov.

The culprit of the tragedy at the Park of Culture

Thanks to the well-coordinated actions of the capital's department of special services and their colleagues in the North Caucasus, it was possible to find out the identity of one dead criminal responsible for the tragedy of the Park of Culture. As it turned out, she was a resident of Dagestan, and in her footsteps, the investigation was able to take the following important steps. Data about the suicide bomber was soon leaked to the media. The public was shocked that the girl who blew herself up was only 17 years old. Her name was Janet Abdullaeva (Abdurakhmanova). Umalat Magomedov, also a member of a terrorist group who died two months earlier during a special operation to destroy illegal groups, was the husband of a suicide bomber whose motive was to avenge her husband's death. The explosions in the Lubyanka and Park Kultury metro stations became an "act of retaliation" for her.

Identification of the second terrorist

In the process of determining the identity of the second dead terrorist, the appeal of citizen Magomedov to the prosecutor's office of Dagestan helped. The explosions in the Lubyanka and Park Kultury metro stations, the photos of whose participants he saw while watching television news, were committed by JanetAbdullaeva and his daughter. The suicide bomber, who was recognized by her father, Maryam Sharipova, set off an explosive mechanism at the Lubyanka station. According to him, the girl was 27 years old. However, to confirm the information that appeared, a genetic examination was appointed, which confirmed that the deceased was indeed Magomedov's daughter.

Almost simultaneously with the exposure of the identity of the suicide bombers, the federal services also managed to find information about the people who directly organized the explosions in the Moscow metro Lubyanka and Park Kultury. The chronicle of the events of those days suggests that, despite the early identification of the base of the criminal operation, the accomplices of the dead suicide bombers themselves were lucky enough to escape. Law enforcement officers confirm only that the group lived in a rented apartment, which is located in an unremarkable residential building, not far from the Khamovniki station.

Events of the morning of Monday March 29: Lubyanka first

Two explosions in the Moscow metro at the Lubyanka and Park Kultury stations came as a surprise to all of Moscow.

The first of them happened in the morning, when the clock was not yet eight. The organizers chose this interval not by chance, because this is a kind of rush hour for the population. At 07:56, having entered the second carriage of the train with the bright, memorable name "Red Arrow", Maryam Sharipova fulfilled the terrorists' plan. The explosion occurred during the movement of underground transport, which had just begun to move away from the station in the direction of Podbelsky Street. Expertsmanaged to identify and restore the picture of those terrible minutes. They concluded that the woman was standing right at the door of the car when the train stopped at the platform, and just a moment before the door opened, she set the ill-fated mechanism in action.

It is also important that, according to eyewitnesses of the incident, no one was going to evacuate people immediately after the explosion. On the speakerphone, the dispatchers only transmitted messages about the delay of the arriving trains and recommended that passengers turn to surface public transport services.

The second explosion happened forty minutes later

Less than an hour later, there was a second explosion in the Park Kultury metro station. The Lubyanka was hit harder. If we measure the power of the explosive device, then in TNT equivalent, almost four kilograms of the substance was put into the bomb. For the tragedy in second place, the terrorists used about one and a half kilograms of explosives. The explosion in the Lubyanka and Park Kultury metro stations (photos of trains are so shocking that it is impossible to provide them) left virtually no chance of survival for those who ended up in the nearest affected area. This is evidenced by the analysis of specialists from the laboratory, which determined that the bombs contained RDX and small reinforcing parts, iron bolts.

The train that suffered the second one also followed in the direction of Podbelsky Street. It all happened in the third car at 08:39.

Evacuation of people from the subway

The metro administration decided to immediately block any train traffic onbetween the "Sportivnaya" station and the "Komsomolskaya" station. When the Ministry of Emergency Situations arrived in time to help, a large-scale evacuation of people from all underground stations began, since, according to the metro department, at that time there were almost 4 thousand people underground.

Fearing that the terrorist attacks at the Lubyanka and Park Kultury metro stations might not be the last, rescuers brought people to the surface without fail. To eliminate the terrible consequences of the tragedy attracted a huge number of experts, equipment and special equipment.

Measures taken by law enforcement officers after the tragedy

Innovations have also occurred in the security work of the police. The leadership of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation in the city of Moscow issued orders to strengthen control over the streets of the capital and the subway, the regime for checking documents, passports of all passers-by (especially those of Caucasian appearance). In addition, when there were explosions in the Moscow metro "Lubyanka" and "Park Kultury", there was an urgent need for help from the internal troops of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation. Their task was to constantly patrol stations, airports, subways and other important facilities.

Condolences to the victims

The reaction of the world community to what happened was not long in coming. The day after the terrorist attacks in Moscow was declared mourning. The leaders of many states, well-known foreign politicians hastened to express their condolences to the head of the Russian state. They hastened to condemn the terrorist act as a manifestation ofterrorism in general, the heads of the G8 countries, the EU, Asia, the presidents of the post-Soviet states, as well as the UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon, the Pope and others.

Many people descending to the station are still shrouded in fear. After all, any manifestation of terrorism is dangerous not only for the citizens of any state, but for all mankind. This is a direct threat to world order and stability.

How to avoid more terrorist attacks?

To avoid the recurrence of such tragic events as the terrorist attacks on the Lubyanka and Park Kultury metro stations, all world countries must act in the same direction. Despite the achievement of a certain level of security at railway stations, airports, subways, much remains to be done, using additional funds and forces. The security committees at the UN and the Council of Europe repeatedly raise this issue for consideration. Considering the correct functioning of the video surveillance system of the Moscow metro, as well as the mechanism for analytical processing of the received data, the failure did occur. Security personnel were unable to locate the camouflaged suicide bombers during rush hour.

One of the important steps was the decree signed by President Dmitry Medvedev. The normative legal act provides for the revision of existing and the creation of new conditions for comprehensive security in the transport infrastructure, especially in the subway.

Explosions in the Moscow metro "Lubyanka" and "Park Kultury", the date of which will forever remain in the memory of the relatives of the victims, people who were lucky enough to survive and those who go down to the stations every day, remind that modern states still there is a lot of work to be done to overcome the important problem of the whole world - terrorism.
