Unfortunately, today many people know what a terrorist attack is. This is very sad, because such horrors should not happen on earth at all. However, the reality is still very far from the desired utopia, which means that it is full of injustice and grief.
And yet, why is the threat of a terrorist attack constantly hanging over people's heads today? Why do terrorists commit such atrocities, forgetting about their humanity? And which countries suffer the most from their activities?
What is a terrorist attack?
The roots of this word goes back to the Latin concept of "terror", which in translation means horror, or fear. That is, a terrorist attack is a certain event aimed at intimidating people or the state. That's what it's all about - making others fear the strength and determination that terrorists have.
In order to achieve their goal, criminals, otherwise you can't call them, are ready to make any sacrifice. They easily destroy other people's houses and equipment, blow up roads and power lines, and, worst of all, take the life of other people. Therefore, a terrorist attack is an atrocity against all human, perfidiousviolation of all spiritual and moral prohibitions.
Why do people commit terrorist attacks?
It is quite difficult to give an exhaustive answer to this question. After all, each terrorist attack is a separate case based on many factors. So let's just look at the main reasons why people commit such an atrocity.
- Disagreement with the current political force or situation in the country. Many terrorist organizations express their protest against the power with the help of weapons. They cannot agree peacefully, and therefore they impose their ideas by force.
- Religious beliefs. Blind faith in God can sometimes lead to sad consequences. Many radical organizations and sects use their parishioners as living weapons, convincing them of the existence of "instructions" from above.
- Mental disorder. Psychopathic suicide bombers are not so common, but still they have a place to be. A striking example is a distraught schoolboy in America who shot some of his classmates.
However, it also happens that terrorist attacks are carried out not for political reasons, but for pleasure or profit. Indeed, for some people, death is an integral part of their lives. Although it may sound cruel, without it, they no longer feel whole and happy. For such people, a terrorist attack is just a way to dispel boredom and sow much-loved chaos.
Terror attacks of the 21st century
Progress is amazing. He managed to give us warm houses, beautiful cars and delicious, although not veryhe althy fast food. But he also brought weapons of mass destruction, which made the attacks even more dangerous and deadly.
After all, if earlier the most terrible weapon of a terrorist was a gunpowder bomb, capable of inflicting damage only to a small area, now their arsenal is much wider. Now they have new types of explosives, chemical gases, machine guns and even rockets in their hands. And all this is used for only one purpose - to destroy all those objectionable to the regime.
But even that is not the worst. Much worse is that the terrorists have learned to use progress itself for their own good. For example, everyone remembers September 11, when two hijacked planes rammed American skyscrapers. As a result, a machine aimed at improving human life has become the most formidable weapon in the hands of the invaders.
The attack in Paris: causes and consequences
Let's look at a specific case of a terrorist attack in order to better understand what causes them. As an illustrative example, let's take a series of brutal raids that took place in the French capital on the night of November 13-14, 2015. A Muslim organization called the Islamic State claimed responsibility for the attack in Paris.
Recall that on this day the terrorists attacked the six largest points in the capital. So, they shot the audience in the Betaclan concert hall, detonated a bomb at the city stadium, smashed one of the local restaurants, and also opened fire from machine guns in the busiest parts of Paris. As a result, more than 120 people died, and even more receivedinjured.
As for the reasons, first of all, the ISIS terrorists were unhappy with the fact that France was interfering in their affairs in the Middle East. In particular, the country's assistance in the bombing of Syria played a huge role. Well, the cartoons ridiculing Islam, printed in one of the Parisian publications, added fuel to the fire.
What did such aggression lead to? To panic and horror, which, in principle, was required by the terrorists. However, these feelings soon turned into hatred, which means that now everyone who even somehow resembles the Taliban villain will be under attack.
Terror attacks in Moscow
Alas, but Russia also knew the bitterness of losses from terrorist attacks. Moscow has been particularly hard hit, as it is the heart of this powerful country. The last major terrorist attack took place at Domodedovo Airport on January 24, 2011. Then the suicide bomber blew himself up right inside the building.
In addition, according to official figures, over the past 11 years, 628 people have died in the capital at the hands of terrorists. Not to mention the fact that their actions led to colossal destruction and chaos. And yet, let's hope that soon the whole world will unite under a common command in order to defeat the malicious enemy once and for all.
