Ploshad Kievsky Vokzal is one of the Moscow squares, which is located on the territory of Dorogomilovo in the Western District. There is no residential development in this area, however, there are many places near the object that may be of interest both to those who happened to be in this area and to people looking for interesting places in the city.

History of the place

The station, now called Kievsky, was erected in 1899 and looked like a small one-story building, but was subsequently rebuilt several times, as was the area around it.

Like many other places in Moscow, the square near the Kievsky railway station was renamed, but only once. Historically, it has always been named after the name of the object adjacent to it. Therefore, when in 1934 the station changed its name from Bryansky to Kyiv, the square also received a new name. A little later, its dimensions also changed: the area of the Kievsky Station became larger, as it was expanded to Dorogomilovskaya Street. At the same time, it was slightly rebuilt, bringing tocompliance with the architecture of the surrounding buildings and the Moscow River nearby.

How to get there

The easiest way to get here is to get to the metro station "Kyiv" and get off at any of the exits. However, if you use personal rather than public transport, without knowing the city, you may need a navigator.

Interesting places

Kyiv railway station has always been a major urban transport center, and therefore there have always been a lot of people on the adjacent square. Such a mass character in modern conditions could not but attract numerous service enterprises to the square, and a good transport location made the square also an ideal place for buildings related to business management.

Most nearby establishments are restaurants and malls. The fact that shopping and entertainment facilities are primarily located in this area is not at all surprising: after all, the flow of people passing through the station every day is extremely high. Most of the passengers waiting for the train will not mind passing the time by shopping. Many of them may want to have a bite to eat, for this there are many restaurants nearby, both fast food and full-fledged catering establishments.

From the places less interesting to the common man, one can also note numerous business centers where offices of various companies are located: the business center "European", "Borodino Panorama", "Europe Building" and many others. Despite the fact that business centers are not architecturallysimilar to one another, they have nothing interesting for the guests of the capital.
