Today, Russian railways carry about 40% of export and 70% of import cargo, as well as almost the entire volume of international transit traffic. This requires constant improvement of transportation by railways, with their transfer through border crossings (land and sea ports), as well as optimization of interaction with border, customs and other government agencies and with services of foreign states.
Buslovskaya station is one of the Russian border points.
History of the customs post of the times of the USSR
Before the opening of Buslovskaya station, the customs post of the northern part of St. Petersburg has undergone many changes.
Vyborgskaya railway crossed the border across the river Sestra on the bridge. The imperial customs house was located at Beloostrov station, and the point of the Great Principality was located at Rajajoki, which does not exist now.
In the autumn of 1944, after a long downtime due to wars, trains with goods began to move through Vyborg again, so there was a need fororganization of inspection, and it began to be carried out at Nurmi (or Lawn) station. The staffing of the customs post at that time (until 1946) was 8 people. Post Lawn was located in two apartments with a total area of 48 sq. meters. From the inventory, there were only 3 tables, 7 chairs, a wardrobe, a bookcase, 3 inkwells and a paperweight, 3 stamp pads, 8 stamps, an abacus (2 pcs.), 2 metal rulers and 2 lanterns.
The work of customs officials was mainly in the clearance of goods that were transported by rail. Equipment for Russian industries, paper and light industry products were brought to the USSR from Finland, and wagons with flax went in the opposite direction. The most common types of smuggling: alcohol, coffee, textiles.
Modern customs
The modern period of the customs post began from this station (railway Buslovskaya). Its grand opening took place at the end of July 1996. Today, the staff of the RWPP consists of 46 officials. The design capacity for today is 12 trains per day in one and the other direction, per year - 4,380 trains. The capacity of the customs control section is 78 wagons.
On average, 1-2 trains with import and 6 export trains are issued per day.
Buslovskaya station
The point refers to the Oktyabrskaya railway of the St. Petersburg-Helsinki direction. This is the border post of this line. The next station is Vainikkala, located in Finland. Previous – Lawn.
The building itselfThe station has two floors. There is one platform and 9 railway tracks on the territory. Not far away is the village of Seleznevskoye.
Suburban trains (electric trains) run only from the Vyborg railway station, there are no direct flights from St. Petersburg. A technical stop here is made by a fast train from Moscow to Helsinki ("Lev Tolstoy"), and the disembarkation and embarkation of passengers at Buslovskaya station is not carried out on this train (it is only allowed for servants and employees). To get to Finland, you first need to take a train to Vyborg and take the Lev Tolstoy train there.
Characteristics of the customs post
