Political power is a concept, the meaning of which can be understood, having familiarized, first of all, with the meaning of power in general. The phenomenon of power is characteristic of every group of people if they are united by a common goal and act in accordance with it. Thus, political power is only one of the types of government, and there are six of them:

• power in the clan, community or tribe;
• actual political (or state) power;
• power in the economy;
• power of individual enterprises or associations;
• church government;
• parental authority.

Despite the fact that each of the listed varieties operates on its own territory, has unique features and characteristics, they all define domination as a category of society. That is, all the mentioned types have common properties, including political power. The definition denoting intersecting lines can be divided into two points:

• coercion - every type of government has this feature. In different conditions, it manifests itself in its own way and has specific schemes.influence, but in the sphere of social power, coercion is an obligatory mechanism of influence.
• The main relationship of each type of government is between management and subordinates.

Political power in Russia is manifested in a system of long-term relationships between people who act in their own interests and strive to achieve a specific result. That is, government is one of the essential conditions for the existence of each group of people. Any social community is subject to the general will of the leadership.

Political power is a synonym for state power, which means that domination in this case is carried out by the power itself or with its participation. According to Karl Marx, any problem or issue has its own political essence, which depends on the relationship of this issue to the government. He also argued that political power is one of the institutions of the state, and therefore one of the cells that forms the political existence of social society.

Among the people who deal with these issues, there are those who do not support the identification of state and political power. Their position is based on the fact that it is necessary to distinguish between the very phenomenon of government and the significance of various political organizations or social associations for the exercise of this power. However, despite this, political power is a kind of domination, which is at the same time state power. Although this type of government is carried out by other organizations of political significance, butit is regulated by the power itself.

Thus, we can conclude that political power is a type of public administration that is fully sanctioned by the state. This means that the power manages, supports and promotes the implementation of this type of government. Political power is characterized by coercive nature, since specially created state bodies of law enforcement and punitive type play a large role in its existence.
