Traumatic weapon designed for self-defense. It should be light, compact and comfortable to wear, as well as as safe as possible for the shooter himself. There are many different models of traumatic weapons, some of them are more suitable for self-defense tasks, others less, depending on their caliber and size. Almost all of them exactly repeat the original and, as a rule, have a number of differences that are characteristic of all "traumas". Some weapons are only available in pneumatic versions.
Legal side
Traumatic weapons - submachine guns, pistols, submachine guns - are most often made by cooling down combat barrels. This comes with a certain risk. Firstly, the design must be changed so that the reverse alteration is impossible, and secondly, according to the Law on Weapons, the possibility of burst firing, if it is provided for in the combat version, must be excluded. Thirdly, such a model includes all the positive and negative aspects of the mechanism, which affects the operation.
Traumatic assault rifle: reality and fiction
Assault rifles are types of firearms designed to hit the enemy in the nearbattle. Their distinctive feature is the ability to create a high density of fire. Also, the machine is called an automatic carbine, or an assault rifle. After the Great Patriotic War, machine guns in the USSR replaced several types of weapons: submachine guns, outdated models of non-automatic carbines and magazine non-automatic rifles.
The ability to shoot bursts, intermediate-caliber cartridges, a large-capacity interchangeable magazine - all this makes the machine gun a popular weapon. Traumatic option, unfortunately, is impossible.
Automatic and non-automatic weapons
The relationship between the words "automatic" and "automatic" often misleads people. If you ask a person who is not a connoisseur of weapons what an "automatic pistol" is, most likely he will answer that this is a pistol that can fire a burst. In the twenties of the last century, Nikolai Mikhailovich Filatov, a Soviet specialist in small arms, proposed the name “automatic” in relation to the Fedorov rifle, which the designer himself called “submachine gun”. Whether it is a traumatic or a combat pistol, it doesn’t matter, it can also be automatic (as well as semi-automatic), because in fact, the automation in the design provides only a self-cocking of the trigger, but not an auto-fire mode (firing in a burst).
Practically all modern weapons are automatic. Already the revolver of the Nagant system in its officer version had a self-cocking function.
Pistols
Traumatic pistols, as a rule, have some similar characteristics. Sighting range - up to twenty meters (shooting from ten is considered effective). Models created by chilling have design improvements that limit the power of the cartridge used. The specific shape of the bore will cause the weapon to break if fired with reinforced ammunition.
The Stechkin pistol was put into service simultaneously with the famous Makarov pistol in 1951. As a rule, they are supplied to officers who take part in hostilities. It also ships to some special units.
The traumatic submachine gun has been produced recently, since 2010. It is made by cooling and has 9 gauge. The pistol is automatic, the shutter is free. Since it is considered a civilian weapon, the auto-fire mode is excluded under the Weapons Act.
The pistol is quite large, and the correct choice of holster plays a big role in the comfort of carrying, but despite the size, it is quite light.
Traumatic APS is almost a complete semblance of combat. This is often crucial among gun enthusiasts, as the obvious choice is to be able to both wear a legal self-defense weapon and hold the most accurate replica of the original. The price of a traumatic APS is from 35 thousand rubles.
The Makarov and TT traumatic pistols are also very popular. PM ("Makarych" or IZH-79-9T) is one of the most recognizable types of weapons among civilians.of the population, partly due to the fact that the police are armed with it, partly due to the constant flickering in the cinema. TT (the model is called "Leader") is also quite famous. He is loved for his characteristics, he is very comfortable, light, rather narrow, which is why he is almost invisible when worn. However, the TT has a significant drawback associated with the design features of the original. Cases of crossbows were noted, which is why in the armed forces it was even forbidden to carry a pistol in a holster without a fuse turned on and with a sent cartridge. The flight speed of a rubber bullet is almost 300 m/s, and the firing range reaches two hundred meters and more.
The famous "Wasp"
This is one of the examples where a gun is not created by chilling, because it has no combat equivalent. "Osa" (full name - barrelless pistol, "PB-OSA") has three modifications: "Compact", PB-2 and PB-4-2. There is also the "Aegis PB-2" based on the "Osa". It is not suitable for shooting training and shooting on the stand, but it fully justifies itself as a weapon for self-defense. G. A. Bideev, the designer of the Wasp, set himself the task of designing a pistol that meets all the requirements of the law, but has a high stopping power, and he did an excellent job. It is loaded with an 18×45 caliber cartridge designed specifically for this pistol. There are also light and sound cartridges.
Feature of "PB-Wasp" is the absence of a trunk. ATas a result of this, neither conversion into a firearm nor firing with reinforced cartridges is possible, because the ignition of gunpowder occurs due to an electric spark.
Kalashnikov rifle
You can often see noise AKs on the shelves of weapons and sports stores. As a rule, this is a chilled machine gun, that is, made from a combat one. It can be used for training in disassembly. It shoots noise AK with blank cartridges, and both single shots and bursts are provided. Noise AKs are used for school and student military sports games, training in disassembling machine guns, etc.
The civilian population has the opportunity to purchase a traumatic gun, but the machine does not have such a model. The traumatic Kalashnikov assault rifle, if it were produced, would be without the ability to fire in bursts, as is implemented in the Saiga carbines. Just like the machine gun, the traumatic version of the Esaul submachine gun is devoid of burst firing. It is illegal to convert it to auto-fire.
“Traumatic assault rifle” - this is how the pneumatic version is often called, which is made of metal and wood and exactly repeats the appearance of the legendary assault rifle. A traumatic pistol is designed for aimed shooting at a distance of up to 20 meters, and a pneumatic AK gives the same performance. The price is also very acceptable, it ranges from seven to twenty thousand rubles.
The speed of the bullet is very high for pneumatics: 130 m / s, if it hits an unprotected place, it canlead to injury. AK is a favorite weapon of people who are fond of airsoft and hardball, but given that the store in various models can hold up to three hundred bullets, and one carbon dioxide cylinder in gas-cylinder models is enough for less than a hundred shots, an electric drive system was implemented. Instead of a cylinder, an electric compressor was used, which, in turn, is powered by a battery. Such modernization made it possible to use an automatic machine in military field games.
Traumatic weapons are primarily designed for self-defense, they should be small and comfortable to wear, and a machine gun is not suitable for this purpose, but an air pistol can cause serious damage, so safety always comes first.
