Terrorism is the main problem of all mankind in the late 20th and early 21st centuries. Almost half of the world's states are faced with this horrific disaster, which overtakes absolutely all civilians: men, women, the elderly and children indiscriminately. An extremist is a person who has nothing sacred, who does not value people's lives. What is he guided by and why does he decide to do such things?

What is extremism

The word "extremism" is of Latin origin, it is translated into Russian as "extreme". Literally, it can be interpreted as adherence to radical views, be it politics, religion or social beliefs. To date, extremism is most bloody manifested precisely in religion and politics. In addition, very often, radical views are based on national rejection.

Fundamentals of religious extremism

Terrorists and extremists are often guided in their activities by religiousmotives. However, the true reason may lie much deeper, because many leaders of such ultra-radicals simply seek power and great profit. Signs of true religious extremism include the following characteristics:

• The ideology of denying the existence of another faith.
• Possibility of using violence against people of other religions.
• Active propaganda of radical ideas.
• The "cult of personality" of the leader of the movement.
• Changing the consciousness of cult members under the pressure of ideas.

An extremist is very often the person who cannot be accountable for his actions and deeds. In some ways, the radicals are like zombies, so well their gurus and leaders were able to put aggression, anger and a distorted perception of consciousness into their heads. Often people are driven to join a radical group for economic or social reasons. Future extremists are people who have nothing to lose. They may not have a job, a family, an education, a home of their own.

Fighting extremism

In our country, as in many other states, there is an active fight against extremism in all its manifestations. The creation of societies of a radical nature, the implementation of propaganda and insults on the grounds of religion, nation, social and political convictions is prohibited. For violation of the law, criminal liability is provided, including a real term of imprisonment.

Radical groups in the world

Currently all over the worldThere are about 500 different extremist organizations, which are mostly organized in those states where there is a certain internal instability. Despite all possible methods of struggle, terrorism and radical relations are only growing in modern society, this fact is confirmed by dry statistics. So, in 2008 alone, about 15,000 people died from acts of a terrorist or extremist nature, and more than 40,000 were injured of varying severity.

Modern extremism is spreading at lightning speed, radicals convey their ideas and thoughts to the masses using the Internet, their statements are almost impossible to control and limit. An extremist is a person who wants to be seen. Very often the leaders of this or that group make public speeches and threats. In this way they satisfy their lust for power and power over the rest of the world.

Extremists and radicals, who are they? How did their activities and ideology manage to find supporters in the world? In many ways, this phenomenon is explained by the current international situation, globalization and the total power that the United States is trying to establish over other countries. A huge number of countries have been captured by revolutionary moods, people who need stability and social guarantees take to the streets with weapons in their hands, believing that the goal justifies any methods. In such situations, the ideological leaders of extremist groups can easily recruit new members of their team by promising them"golden mountains".

Main types of radical groups

An extremist is a person who, of course, needs to be fought, as he is a threat to the entire peaceful world community. It is customary to distinguish three main types of radical groups:

• Islamic direction. Characterized by religious overtones, widespread throughout the world. The brightest centers of the Islamic direction were noted in Chechnya, Afghanistan, Iran.
• Ultraliberalism. This product was created by Western culture and, at first glance, is characterized by the correct democratic features. The main idea of such a trend is the exclusivity of democratic values and the rejection of any other political views.
• Nationalism. It is based on the belonging of people to a particular nation and state. It was most widely used in Germany and Italy in the middle of the 20th century.
