Novosibirsk is the third largest city in the Russian Federation. During its existence, the history of the settlement has been significantly enriched. During the Russian Empire, Novosibirsk was one of the main cities of the country. Tourists, coming here, enjoy its history and originality. Some do not even know the area code and ask: "Region 154 - what city is this?" 154 is the code of Novosibirsk.

History

154 The region, aka Novosibirsk, owes its appearance to the Trans-Siberian Railway, which has been laid since 1891. Two years later, Garin-Mikhailovsky - as an engineer - indicated the place where a bridge with a railway across the Ob would be built. Although there was a possibility that if the bridge had been installed 40 km from Novosibirsk, then the village of Kolyvan would have been an agglomeration and a million-plus city.

The Great Patriotic War gave a powerful impetus to the development of Novosibirsk. Many factories and scientific institutes were evacuated here, which made the city the industrial center of the USSR. After the evacuation of Leningrad residents to Siberia, the number of residents in Novosibirsk almost doubled.

Geography

Novosibirsk is spread widely on both sides of the Ob River. And every year the city is getting bigger in all respects. Due to its location (the central part of the plain), Novosibirsk is considered the "capital" of Siberia.

As for the climate, and the weather in particular, many guests of this subject of the Russian Federation can leave here in the greatest hurry: the climate type here is set as sharply continental. And this means that winter can abruptly turn into summer. Often there are cases when the snow melts during the day, and at night turns the sidewalks and the road part into a polished ice rink.

Regarding ecology, I would like to say that the city is often covered with thick smog when neighboring forests are burning. Residents also suffer from emissions from numerous factories, combined heat and power plants. However, thanks to the ring of primeval forests, the ecology of Novosibirsk is somewhat better than in other megacities.

Population

154 The region reports after the census that 1,523,800 people live in the city itself and the region. This means that Novosibirsk is a million-plus city. The millionth inhabitant was born on September 2, 1962.

Novosibirsk is one of the few cities in Russia that has been able to grow from a small village into a metropolis of one and a half million people.

As for the national composition, Russians prevail here - 92.82%. They are followed by Ukrainians - 0.92%, Uzbeks - 0.75%, Tatars - 0.73%. In addition, Germans, Tajiks, Armenians, Kyrgyz, Azerbaijanis, Belarusians, Kazakhs,Koreans, Yezidis, Jews, Chinese, Gypsies, Tuvans, Buryats, Chuvashs, Georgians, Turks, Mordovians, Yakuts, Bashkirs, Poles, Altaians, Moldavians.

Administrative divisions

154 region has 10 districts:

All districts, except for the Central, are divided into two parts. In almost every region there are streets worthy of the title of Manhattan, and there are wild slums that give you goosebumps. In addition, a chic avenue can easily coexist with a small street in the area of one patch.

Infrastructure

Like all megacities, Novosibirsk does not keep up with population growth, so the city's infrastructure is not developing as fast as we would like. During its existence, this settlement developed a little chaotically. Therefore, many areas are blocked in traffic jams during peak hours. To build normal roads and junctions, funds are required, which are not yet available in the Novosibirsk budget.

The connection between the two banks is also vulnerable. Thanks to two bridges, Kommunalny and Dimitrovsky, communication between the two parts of the city is provided. It is quite natural that traffic on the bridges freezes in the mornings and evenings due to the abundance of traffic jams. It is expected that at the end of 2014 the construction of the third bridge, Olovozavodsky, will be completed.

It is because of traffic jams that manyresidents prefer the metro, which is the most important part of Novosibirsk. Many are sure: where the metro is, there is the center of the universe and the development of civilization.

Despite the stories of the townsfolk about how good the region is 154, there are many problems that need to be addressed immediately. This is especially true of the road and public services. Unfortunately, the leadership of these institutions does not try to find ways to solve the problem.

Attractions

154 The region is young, but it has already managed to acquire sights. First of all, having arrived in Novosibirsk, every tourist should visit the Opera and Ballet Theater, which is the largest theater venue in the country.

Kids will be interested in visiting the current zoo, which is located on a fairly large area. It adjoins the Botanical Garden. Today these two establishments are the pride of Novosibirsk.

Here it is, region 154. "What a wonderful city!" tourists admire. There is something to see and there is where to roam. Night clubs and restaurants are open for lovers of active nighttime pastime; the supporters of a more relaxed leisure can get acquainted with the cultural and architectural monuments, which are breathtaking.

In any case, you won't get bored in this city. And there is not enough time to see everything: everything is so magnificent and amazing that it delights adults and children.
