Animals of the Red Book of the Novosibirsk Region are mostly inhabitants of the steppes and forest-steppes. The publication itself was published in 1998 and 2000. At first only plants were published, then animals. In 2008, the Red Book of the Novosibirsk Region was carefully revised. Plants and animals of certain species were excluded from it. The Novosibirsk Ministry of Natural Resources is responsible for compliance with the restoration measures. Any violation - hunting, logging, deliberate destruction - is punishable by law.

Insects

This is the most numerous part of the list of environmental documents, the animals of the Red Book of the Novosibirsk Region are no exception. Let's analyze those species that cause the greatest concern.

Steppe Dybka - a grasshopper of the Orthopteran order is quite large. Individuals are known to have reached 75 mm in length.

Special mark - a pair of stripes along the entire body. Prefers to live in tall grasses. This creates the limiting factor: sloping and destruction of habitats.

Apollo common - a butterfly protected notonly in Novosibirsk, but throughout the country. It has fairly large wings of gray-white color with a pattern characteristic of all Apollos: large black spots. The cause of death is human activity aimed at cutting meadow grasses, grazing in places where caterpillars develop.

The false black-whiskered moth is another moth whose numbers are alarmingly low. It is not like other butterflies: it has large front wings and a fairly elongated body. The limiting factors are the same as for other insects: habitat destruction.

Fish and reptiles

Animals of the Novosibirsk region, listed in the Red Book, are also fish. The Siberian sturgeon is on the verge of extinction. It is considered the largest fish in the region: adults exceed 40 kilograms. Habitat - the river Ob, at the very bottom of the Novosibirsk region (if you look at the map). The main enemy of this rare fish is poachers, as well as human economic activities on the banks of rivers, for example, the organization of reservoirs.

Lenok is a fish from the genus salmon, the number of which is catastrophically small.

The weight of an adult varies from 700 grams to 3 kilograms, the color is olive. In the Novosibirsk region, there are few places for a possible habitat for fish: they prefer river rapids, sources or mouths of river tributaries in lakes.

Only one reptile (common cottonmouth) is contained in the Red Book of the Novosibirsk Region. Plants and animals introducedit needs special protection. The population of the muzzle (snake) lives in a very limited area, which can change at any time due to human activity - this is the limiting factor.

Birds

As for birds, these are very numerous animals of the Red Book of the Novosibirsk Region. Moreover, many of them are under protection not only in this region, but throughout Russia. Such birds include curly and pink pelicans. Birds are similar to each other, differ in size (pink is smaller), colors. Also, the curly pelican has a bizarre plumage on the back of the head, for which he got his name.

These large birds with long legs are the only ones living in our country. The problem of population decline is the change in the water level in the nesting areas, which floods the nests.

I would like to mention the birds of prey. First of all, these are eagles: dwarf and steppe, golden eagle and imperial eagle; also owls: brownie and passerine; owls: white and hawk.

Mammals

The warm-blooded animals of the Red Data Book of the Novosibirsk Region are represented by a large order of bats. These are bats: long-tailed, konnikova and pond. They live most often in dark buildings: attics, basements - during the cold season they wander into caves. All three of these bats differ in color: from light (pond) to dark (long-tailed). The ionic variety is distinguished by its miniature size: it is the smallest bat.

Besides, among the chiropterans, light gray large tube-noses are protected, they are also called Siberian.

Great jerboas are another animals of the Novosibirsk region, listed in the Red Book. They inhabit the forest-steppe, which is often used by people in economic activities, plowing them, treating them with chemicals.

Also worth noting are the eared hedgehog and the river otter.
