The internationalization of a culture is the process by which the specificity of a culture ceases to exist, it becomes similar to others identical to itself. Differences disappear, so culture can become global. This process carries a number of disadvantages and positive aspects for people. What is the internationalization of culture?

The emergence of the concept

Man and globalization

This process exists exactly as long as civilization. With the beginning of the movement of a person around the world, he begins to accelerate. In ancient times, people had an idea about their neighbors and the specificity of their views, so they could add some components to their culture. The internationalization of culture manifests itself especially clearly in trade relations between countries, as people shared news with representatives of other countries. Previously, foreign traditions and views were absorbed into society not so quickly, but still took place.

Back inIn antiquity, problems of internationalization of culture arose, as close countries became identical, gradually losing their originality. The consequence was the disappearance of the state due to joining another, so many nationalities did not reach modern times.

Relationship between internationalization process and human development

Loss of identity
Loss of identity

Many researchers in the field of globalization note that the internationalization of culture contributes to the global division of cultures into ever wider segments. Only a person brings this influence, since over time he develops, does not want to be in one territory and moves to other cities or countries, respectively, integrates parts of his culture into them.

When a person in his development reaches heights and builds the first cars, fast ships, planes and helicopters, then internationalization occurs even faster. Now a person could influence not only close countries, but also those that were on another continent. It is for this reason that today there are so many countries that are similar to each other in mentality, traditions and views.

True, today you can still find such states that have not lost their originality in any way. For example, tribes in Africa who still lead a primitive way of life, renouncing all the innovations of technological progress.

Speeding up the process of internationalization of culture

Internationalization and the Internet

Today it is developing as quickly as possible, as a personThe main reason was created - the Internet. Initially, people were limited to telephone communications, which also contributed to the integration of cultures. Nowadays, there is the Internet, and it is able to connect the inhabitants of the two ends of the planet in seconds. People communicate a lot of information to others, so cultures become the same. Also, the presence on the Web of a huge number of articles about representatives of another country, about their traditions, has an unprecedented impact, which is why many ethnic groups can completely disappear, merging with large and influential countries.

What's up?

Mixture of cultures

Internationalization of culture, judging by what has been said, directly depends on the Internet. Because of this, many languages, art, ways of living in one country are disappearing. Globalization today embraces everyone and everything, so it is impossible not to notice its impact.

Moreover, many countries today are trying to preserve their identity through economic measures. For example, in many cities salaries are not raised so that people do not become like the leading cultures, but lead a familiar, traditional way of life. But no matter how hard the authorities try, the process, once started, will not stop. People are accustomed to openness, so they will strive to connect with other continents and countries.

Mostly internationalization is caused by economic globalization. Years ago, it seemed impossible for a world economy to really come into being and run for a long time. But now everyone sees how the economies of countries cooperate, unite, and this gives them a chance to stay afloat, always have a stable financial situation and status. Such an association as the European Union fully reveals the essence of the previous proposal. Countries actively cooperate, help each other, decide something together and eventually become similar in terms of the chosen strategies for developing the economic and, accordingly, social structure.
