Sergei Veremeenko: biography of early years

The future tycoon was born in the city of Pereslavl-Zalessky, which is located in the Yaroslavl region. It happened on September 26, 1955. Sergey spent almost all his childhood in his hometown, where he graduated from high school.

But, having received a certificate, he went to study in Ufa. Here Sergey Veremeenko entered the Ufa Oil Institute, which he successfully graduated in 1978. In the column of speci alty was the inscription: "Design and operation of oil pipelines, oil depots and gas storage facilities." However, this level of knowledge was not enough for the future businessman. Therefore, he decided to go to graduate school, which made him a student at UNI for another three years.

After completing his studies, he worked for some time in the institute's laboratory, but soon realized that you would not earn much in this way. The meeting between Veremeenko and Sergei Pugachev, which happened in 1989, was fateful. Together they organized a common business for the production and sale of labels.

In 1991 Pugachev registers "Northern Trade Bank". As for Sergey Veremeenko, he becomes his partner and opens a branch of this organization in Moscow. A year later, the branch is renamed into "International Industrial Bank". And in 2003, Sergey Alekseevich Veremeenko became the managing director of this financial structure.

Alas, the friendship of the two entrepreneurs did not last long. After Sergei Veremeenko put forward his candidacy for the presidency of the Republic of Bashkortostan, their relationship with Pugachev began to gradually deteriorate. And despite the fact that Veremeenko lost the election, at the end of 2003, the former comrades decided to split the business in half and rule it separately.

The path to glory

In 2004, Sergei Veremeenko became Vice President of the Russian Academy of Engineering. He also takes over the management of the International Institute for Investment Projects and Construction Economics.

Having good investment experience, Veremeenko invests his savings in Russian Coal. Now it is one of the largest suppliers of combustible raw materials in the country, and our entrepreneur owns 25% of its shares.

Also, Veremeenko is a deputy of the Legislative Assembly in the Tver region. An interesting fact is that on the territory of this and two other regions, the oligarch owns about 30 thousand hectares of land. Such vast possessions allowed Sergey Veremeenko to open two horse breeding farms, in which about 2 thousand breeding horses live.

In 2008, Veremeenko was noticed by Forbes magazine, and he was included in the top 100 richest people in Russia. At that time, he had about $1.4 billion in his account, which gave him 77th place in the ranking.

Family and personal life

Sergei Veremeenko was married three times. His first wife, Alla Gennadievna, is his business partner and co-owner of a stake in Mezhprombank. As for the second marriage with Marina Smetanova, he gave the businessman a son, Alexei. By the way, Sergey has five children in total, and, according to him, he passionately loves all of them.

The third wife of the oligarch was a young model SophiaSkye. Rumor has it that Veremeenko gave bribes to the jury so that they would help his companion win the Miss World 2006 contest. However, this has never been proven.
