In one of his poems back in 1914, Vladimir Mayakovsky wrote: "Since the stars in the sky are lit, it means that someone needs it." Adyan Pitkeev lit his star in the sky of figure skating. It was he who, at the age of 15, became the winner of olympiads and tournaments, literally bursting into the world of silver ice and the ringing of medals.

From the biography of the skater

A native Muscovite, who has Kalmyk roots in his family, was born in 1998. He began to engage in figure skating at the age of four. Thanks to the first coach Olga Volobueva, I learned the basics of mastery. In 2010, Adyan Pitkeev moved to train with Eteri Tutberidze, and from the age of thirteen he began to take part in various figure skating competitions.

Since 2011, Adyan has been in the Russian national team. According to the coaches, the young man is perfectly built, flexible, strong, having endurance and patience. With his short height (165 cm), Adyan Pitkeev has a high jumping ability.

Rising Star

In 2013, Adian brought his first silver from the Junior Grand Prix Final (Fukuoka, Japan). In the same year, the skater won the Junior Grand Prix in Poland and the European Youth Olympic Festival in Romania. The performances of the young star please his coach, although, as in any sport, there are ups and downs.

The performances of the young figure skater Adyan Pitkeev at the Winter Olympics were phenomenal. He deserved the support of viewers and fans, and their multimillion-dollar love. Adyan, according to the judges, had a clear movement forward. They began to perceive him as a rather serious competitor already in adult figure skating. At the Rostelecom Cup Grand Prix in Moscow, which took place in 2015, Adyan took second place. It was assumed that the future of this skater was predetermined, and he would take more than one peak in figure skating.

Retirement

As a bolt from the blue there was a press report that Adyan Pitkeev will not take part in the Grand Prix series of figure skating in Sapporo and Paris in 2016, and will also miss the test skates of the Russian national skaters in September due to back problems.

Back pain began to make itself felt when the program was complicated by high jumps and complex ligaments, when the work of the body was turned on. Even his easy triple Axel caused pain. Soon, the pain began to come not only when performing elements of skating, but also when walking, and even at night duringsleep.

During a medical examination that Adyan underwent in Germany, it turned out that the problem with the spine did not arise due to falls during training, but, as it turned out, the spine was slightly deformed at the time of his birth. For almost a year, Adyan was under the supervision of doctors. The course of treatment of the spine, prescribed in Germany, he took place in Russia. Naturally, the season in figure skating was skipped, although excellent programs were prepared by Peter Chernyshov.

But he is an ambitious skater, and as soon as the course of treatment ended, the athlete returned to the ice again and began to train. But the pain returned again. This happened six times.

The decision to start a career in dance

It's hard for a person who is in love with his job to just leave and do something else. Adyan had favorite activities, for example, he plays the guitar well and composes music. The young man tried himself both as a commentator on sports programs and as a coach. At the invitation from Switzerland, he studied with figure skater Polina Ustinkova, who competed for this country.

The decision to go into ice dancing for Adyan Pitkeev was spontaneous. He received an offer to take up dancesport from Elena Ilinykh, the 2014 Olympic champion, who was about to move into coaching. Her partner Ruslan Zhiganshin has decided to end his career.

Adyan Pitkeev's fans in "Ask" (social network of questions and answers)bombarded him with questions about who would be the partner. At the moment, it is known that this is also a former singles figure skater Alisa Lozko. According to media reports, this pair is still being tested. Of course, it is difficult to start working in a new direction literally from scratch. But, on the other hand, they are interested in learning the basics of this school, especially since both Adyan and Alice have excellent skating techniques. There is no information about whether this couple will work together or is it just a test. Moreover, it became known that Elena Ilinykh, having found a new partner, decided to continue amateur skating.
