The direction of the field of activity most often depends on personal preferences: sports, culture, politics, social life, etc. The work schedule is usually irregular, because important events can happen at any time.

The origins of domestic journalism
1702 was marked by the publication of the first national newspaper Vedomosti in St. Petersburg. This date became the starting point in the history of Russian journalism. The newspaper was published by Peter I himself, he was also the first author of the articles.
After the death of the tsar, the baton was picked up by the Sankt-Peterburgskie Vedomosti, which departed from the political orientation of its predecessor. The newspaper contained rumors and gossip, news from foreign publications, reports of traveling officials, information from diplomats' letters. It was on the pages of the "Sankt-Peterburgskie Vedomosti" that the famous article by M. Lomonosov "Discourses on the duties of journalists" was published, which became a kind of moral code for representatives of this profession. In it, the author put forward the following requirements: to be competent, modest, respect the opinions of others, understanding how “shameful to steal other people's thoughts.”
The 19th century was marked by the emergence of the revolutionary democratic press, and between 1910 and 1914 the first "Press Bureau" was founded.
During the years of Soviet power, Russian journalists created mostly ideological media, expressing the views of the ruling political force.
In recent decades, there has been a real information boom, which has also affected our sphere. This is the age of new types of publications, Internet journalism. A powerful legislative framework has been formed to regulate activities in this area.
