The fate of many TV journalists who periodically appear on the screen is quite often interested in the audience. Curiosity is manifested not only in their biographical data, but also in facts relating to their personal lives.
Tatiana Mitkova: biography
The daughter of a war veteran who worked for a long time in the First Main Directorate of State Security of the Soviet Union, and an employee of the Soviet embassy, Tatyana Mitkova, born on September 13, 1957 in Moscow, spent her early childhood years on Swiss soil.
Even while studying at an English special school, she attended the School of Young Journalists at Moscow State University.
1982 was marked for Tatyana Rostislavovna by the end of the evening department at the faculty of journalism of the university named above.
By this time, she was already on the staff of the Central Television of the Union State Radio and Television. In this structure, she held the positions of editor, senior editor, special correspondent, TV commentator at International Panorama, 120 Minutes.
Tatyana Mitkova resigned after a conflict situation, when in January 1991 she did not disclose the comments proposed by the leaders of Ostankinooccurred on the 13th of the Vilnius events.
Then she worked as a TV correspondent for the German company ARD.
In 1991, she won the competition, where the hosts of TV-Inform participated, in addition, she was awarded the corresponding prize from the American organization for the protection of journalists.
1991-1993 Tatyana hosted information programs at the Ostankino television center.
The difficult period of the formation of democracy in the 90s
After the events of the State Emergency Committee, Tatyana Mitkova, by order of the head of State Security Bakatin, received access to archival materials of this closed structure.
As a result of this, a ten-minute video about the facts of cooperation with the State Security Committee of the highest church hierarchs was shown in Novosti. For example, according to Mitkova, Metropolitan Pitirim, as an informant, was given the pseudonym "Drozdov" by the secret service.
Director Nikita Mikhalkov made a return telecast where the honor of Pitirim was defended.
Work on NTV
Since 1993, the journalist joined the ranks of the NTV television company, where she began to host the news program "Today" in the evenings, she hosted it for 11 years.
In early 1994, she was awarded the Lithuanian medal issued in honor of the events of January 13th. Of interest is the fact that in 2014 she refused this award, after her colleague Dmitry Kiselev was stripped of a similar medal by the President of Lithuania for his freedom-loving statements.
In 1997, Tatiana won the TEFI award as the besthost of information programs.
At the end of 1998, the public committee for the fight against television journalists, created by the Russian Communist Party, declared her an "accomplice of the regime".
Tatyana Mitkova at various times hosted the TV news "Today" together with Mikhail Osokin, Petr Marchenko, Kirill Pozdnyakov.
In 2006, she was awarded the Order of Friendship of Peoples in connection with achievements in the development of television.
Since 2001, Tatyana Mitkova has been the chief editor of NTV, and from 2004 to the present day, she has been the deputy general director of the channel in the field of information broadcasting, she also headed the directorate in this direction.
24.10.2011 Mitkova went on the air as a presenter in the modified information program "Today. Results.", which she hosted until 2014.
About conflicts
April 2001 was remembered for a serious confrontation between Media-Most, headed by Vladimir Gusinsky, and Gazprom-Media OJSC.
Among them, a struggle broke out for the right to own the NTV company. Many journalists of the TV company, its management, including the general director Yevgeny Kiselev, took a certain position in this confrontation, with which Mitkova categorically disagreed.
To express her protest, she left the NTV team. Tatyana returned as part of a renewed administration after the TV channel was taken under the wing of Gazprom-Media, which led to the forced departure of the former team.
Currently, the only employee who has worked at NTV since its inception is Tatyana Mitkova, whose photo rightfully adorns the corridors of the TV company.
About personal life
The personal life of a journalist is a rather closed topic even for her colleagues. For example, Mikhail Osokin, who worked side by side with her for a long time, for some reason formed the opinion that her husband was a deputy.
In fact, Mitkova is married to international journalist Vsevolod Solovyov.
They talk about his five-year working trip to Africa, from where he did not send reports at all. During this period, Tatyana allegedly developed a romantic relationship with the TV presenter of the Rossiya channel Dmitry Kiselev.
In the future, I had to make a lot of efforts so that the family did not break up. The TV presenter's son's name is Dmitry. An interesting feature was noticed: all three - father, mother and son - have a birthday on the thirteenth.
Colleagues also talk about a specific character trait that Tatyana Mitkova possesses. Nationality, age, education of a person do not matter much to her. The main thing for her is that he was from the television circle. The world that exists outside Ostankino is of little interest to her.
Mitkova's hobbies include music and skiing.
