Even if a crisis has struck, even if there is no way to go to the sea, even if there are nothing left of these seas in Ukraine, you can finally fulfill your old dream of a relaxing holiday on a quiet lake. And they, these days spent on a not quite familiar pond, may turn out to be the most successful vacation…

The lakes of Ukraine are not only fishing and camping. Among them are many equipped according to the latest tourist fashion: coasts with comfortable bungalows, and even all-season houses, with a protected area, with parking lots, with a full set of "sea" entertainment: from jet skis to parachuting.

And no more storms of seven points, no corn sellers, beachgoers stepping over, and other unpleasant exotics.

True, there are no curiosities - large shells, sea fish in fried, smoked and dried form, and there are no live ones either. But, if someone is already tired of the monotonous vacation on the seas, you can easily change it. The lakes of Ukraine are unusual and picturesque.

What to do on the lake?

The same as on any body of water - first take a dip, sunbathe, and thengo explore the area. Plain rivers and lakes of Ukraine give an amazing feeling of spaciousness and tranquility. The majestic Dnieper with many floods, lakes and lakes becomes a whole unknown world for the traveler.

Lake Dragobratskoye, for example, looks like the turquoise eye of some beauty from the meadow. This is how legends tell about him: it was formed as a result of the fact that one girl always carried a mirror with her and constantly admired it. Going to the forest for firewood, out of habit she took her favorite thing with her, but accidentally dropped it. Now there is a wonderful lake in this place - quiet, calm, with gently sloping banks overgrown with grass.

Not far from the reservoir, on the mountain slopes, edelweiss grow, which you can only admire, as, in fact, everything here is a protected area.

The largest of Ukrainian lakes

The largest lake in Ukraine is located in the Odessa region. Nature is generous, borders are unknown to her, so the right to a reservoir was divided by two neighboring countries. In addition to the territory of Ukraine, Yalpug also occupies Moldovanland.

Is it possible to relax here and is it advisable if the sea is within easy reach? Many people like to combine several types of recreation, moving from the lake to the sea coast.

As far as Yalpug is concerned, the reservoir can please crayfish lovers with beer. There is quite a lot of this living creature in it, since the bottom of the reservoir is muddy. Crayfish live in the lake in whole colonies and, if you are not afraid to get dirty and scratched, you can train them for a large company.

The lake is shallow - the average depth is about two meters, but quite large. The area of the water mirror is 15 x 39 km.

Country? No, the lake

One of the 25 Danube lakes has a rather strange name - China. Why it was called that is shrouded in mystery. But there is an unofficial half-joking version from the fishermen: there were as many fish in the lake as there are people in China.

Now there are not so many fish, but the lake is still popular among fishing fans: pike, perch, small fish and rudd are easy to catch in its waters - there are enough of them here for more than one generation of fishermen.

China Lake consists of two stretches, there are no beaches as such - only anglers are interested in spending time here.

And the names are sweet-sounding, and the handsome men themselves

Ivor, Svityaz, Shatsky… These are not brands or noble families - these are the lakes of Ukraine that are called.

Ivor is a small lake that strikes the imagination with magical beauty. It is located in the basin of two mountains, one of whichcalled Bliznitsa (according to legend, twin brothers fell from it, claiming one flower for their beloved girl). The lake is always warm, because it is fed by warm springs, the shores of the reservoir are overgrown with sedge, amazing landscapes open up from the mountain peaks.

Svityaz is called the Ukrainian Baikal. Formed as a result of melting glaciers and supported by artesian springs for thousands of years, this lake in Volhynia is considered one of the largest reservoirs in Ukraine. In size, it is second only to the famous Danube lakes-estuaries. Svityaz has a special property - the lake never argues with the weather: on sunny days, the water surprises with its crystal transparency, in bad weather, the mirror of the reservoir becomes almost black.

Svityaz and Shatskys are one group

Lake Svityaz is perceived by everyone as a separate reservoir, although it is included in the popular Shatsky group. All 30 are large lakes of Ukraine, located in the forest, very convenient for summer holidays. The shores of all Shatsky lakes are flat, low, covered with fine sand, they say, it is impossible to think of a better alternative to the sea.

When visiting the Shatsk Lakes, you can set aside time and devote yourself to the study of flora and fauna. After all, there is not only fish here (although some of its specimens can plunge into a pleasant shock: there is pike perch, carp, trout perch), but also an abundance of forest vegetation, and on the banks there are nesting nests of ducks and swans.

About Synevyr - separately

How does he know what is more in this lake - legends or truth, beauty or hype? All thesethe concepts are interconnected, since one gave rise to the other … But the fact that Synevyr is popular is undeniable. Everyone goes to its shores for something of their own: to plunge into the Carpathian natural beauties or plunge into the legend; just swim or compare what this lake is better than the rest.

The rivers and lakes of Ukraine, located in the mountains, are distinguished by their unpredictable character, and this is even more interesting.

The depth of Synevyrsky, for example, is not constant and depends on the amount of precipitation. It is also unique in its location - 989 meters above sea level, and the time of its formation - more than 10 million years ago. The reservoir is called the Sea Eye, because it is perfectly visible from a bird's eye view. Even centuries-old streaks do not interfere with seeing it - the trees part so that birds, stars, and passengers of flights can see the pearl of the Carpathians, and travelers also capture the fact: “Yes. This is it - the amazing Lake Synevyr!”
