Changing ingrained stereotypes is a difficult and sometimes painful process that requiressignificant willpower. A child from such an environment grows up in an atmosphere of active development, he does not have to choose either now or when he grows up. Small weaknesses or serious vices - they all operate on the principle of destruction, the he alth of the psyche and body is sacrificed. The main well-known harmful addictions include:

- drug addiction;
- gaming and computer addiction;
- eating disorder (pathological gluttony).
The above "vices" have one thing in common - they are all, to one degree or another, a demonstration of character pathology, and some of them are considered serious diseases. Addictions are treated by psychiatrists and psychotherapists. ATIn some cases, a person is able to cope on his own, for example, quit smoking. The complex of measures necessary for recovery must necessarily include sports. An alternative to addictions and an effective way to restore and improve he alth brings a lot of positive emotions that can fill the niche in which pain, fear and despair used to live.

Improvement of the nation within the framework of the state program is gaining momentum. It is not the first year that the all-Russian action "Sport - an alternative to addictions" has been successfully held in the country. The goal of the program is to prevent the risk of deterioration in the he alth of the nation by introducing young people, adolescents and children of all ages to a sports and he althy lifestyle. In kindergartens, schools, and other educational organizations, targeted activities are being carried out as part of this action:
- contests and quizzes;
- sports competitions (relay races, competitions);
- thematic creative works (crafts for kids, essays for schoolchildren);
- organization of volunteer clubs for schoolchildren and youth.
The objectives of the action are to involve children and young people in regular physical education and sports, to develop creative abilities and a desire to improve, to form youth volunteer organizations to promote he althy habits and love for sports. Children and their parents, teachers and representatives of public organizations, as well as allinterested persons can take part in the state action "Sport - an alternative to bad habits".

Sports is a powerful tool for strengthening strong-willed qualities. The human body constantly feels the need for movement and labor, this is determined by human nature. Under the influence of regular physical efforts, the psychological mood improves, new resources appear for changing the quality of life, and the boundaries of possibilities expand in other areas of activity. In addition to the undoubted benefits for each individual, sport serves to unite people. "Oh sport, you are the world!" - once said the founder of the modern Olympic movement, Pierre de Coubertin, in his famous ode dedicated to rapprochement and friendship between peoples. The idea that sport is an alternative to addictions is emphasized by Coubertin's poems with a phrase addressed directly to sports: "You are an obstacle in the way of harmful ailments that have always threatened people."
Variety of opportunities makes sport accessible to everyone, whatever their preferences. You can visit special clubs or sections, do gymnastics at home, participate in public competitions, or walk a lot. In summer - swimming, cycling, rollerblading, football, morning jogging. Cross-country or mountain skiing, snowboarding and skating, and just fun sledding or snowshoeing down the mountain gives people a snowy winter. It doesn't matter what sportpreference.
