Jerry Bruckheimer's acquaintance with Donald Simpson, who previously ran the famous Paramount film company, took place in 1983. They decide to create a common project and organize Simpson-Bruckheimer Productions. The first work of the new production company was the film Flashdance, which was released in 1983.
