The Vyborgsky Palace of Culture is one of the main cultural centers of the northern capital of Russia. Almost from its very foundation (in 1927), significant cultural events have been held in its halls: performances, film screenings and various lectures. The stage of the palace served and serves as a platform for the creativity of both domestic and foreign theater stars. History

The construction of the Vyborgsky House of Culture was completed in 1927, on the 10th anniversary of the Great October Revolution. It became a real cultural and educational center for the workers of Leningrad at that time.

In addition to professional theatrical art, amateur creative associations were represented in the palace. Artistic performance was at a fairly high level. It should also be mentioned that the first amateur photography club in Leningrad was founded in the Vyborgsky Palace of Culture, which became famous throughout the USSR.

Location

Address of the building of the recreation center "Vyborgsky": St. Petersburg, Komissara streetSmirnova, 15. It is located near the city center, in the Vyborg district, from which it got its name. Not far from the Palace of Culture is the embankment of the Neva River. There are two metro stations nearby: Ploshad Lenina and Vyborgskaya.

When exiting the station "Ploshchad Lenina", follow Botkinskaya street to Akademika Lebedev street. Next, you need to go to Lesnoy pr. and along it - to Komissara Smirnov Street. Walking will take no more than 15 minutes.

When leaving the station "Vyborgskaya" you will immediately get to Lesnoy Prospekt and along it you can get to the street. Commissioner Smirnov.

Not far from the Palace of Culture are such sights as the Vyborg Garden, the monument to Peter the Great and St. Sampson Cathedral.

There are two halls in the Vyborgsky Palace of Culture - a large theater and a small (concert) hall. The large hall, as already mentioned, can accommodate up to 1870 spectators.
