On the stage and in the frame Sokolova Irina relied on her good acting training and talent. Coming from a theatrical family, she will hone her skills with the best teachers and will become the pride of the national cinema and theater for decades. Remains in demand and loved to this day.

Inheritance theater

The future actress was born in Murmansk before the war and lost her father at the front. In 1940, a gifted daughter was born in an acting theatrical family; her mother and grandmother will raise her without a father. Women managed to instill in the girl from childhood a love for acting and the art of Melpomene. It is worth noting that for the first time the girl was brought on stage in early childhood as an extra.

Sokolova Irina chooses a profession following the example of her parents: her father and mother played roles on stage. After school, she also receives a good theatrical education at the Theater of Young Spectators in Leningrad.

Except for student and children's roles, at 23 Irinais already making her screen debut in film and theater. Since then, she will remain one of the most sought-after and successful actresses for 50 years.

52 years in movies

At different times, Irina Sokolova, whose biography spanned several different eras, was known for her invariably brilliant roles. Unlike her many colleagues, the experienced actress, after the collapse of the former country, did not disappear from the screen or from the stage and manages to be in sight. After dozens of roles in the service of the "Soviet screen" with its censorship and "black and white" morality, Irina Sokolova will reorganize herself under the new "film laws" without complaints or wrangling;

  • "Helena Bay" (1963);
  • "The Hare Sanctuary" (1972);
  • "Degraded" (1980);
  • "The Boys" (1983);
  • "Insurance Agent" (1985);
  • "On the second circle" (1987);
  • "Mournful insensibility" (1987);
  • "Father's Wrath" (1988);
  • "Eclipse Days" (1988);
  • "Sunset" (1990);
  • "Return to Zurbagan" (1990);
  • "My People" (1990).

In the 90s and in the new millennium, an experienced woman was equally easy to be given roles in popular television series and bold historical films. Among her most "significant" works already in the new country, we note:

  • "Moloch - Goebbels" (1999);
  • "Taurus" (2000);
  • "War" (2002);
  • "National Security Agent"(2004);
  • "Wolf Messing: Seeing Through Time" (2009);
  • "Secrets of the Investigation" (2015).

With her roles on the screen, Irina Sokolova, whose photo now rightfully serves as an icon for many young actors, delighted the audience for 52 years. She last appeared in films back in 2015, and has not been filmed anywhere else since then.

Master of Transformation

In her career, Sokolova remains a model of a diverse actress not only at home, but also in the world. With all the love of the mass audience for her, it is unlikely that the townsfolk are fully aware of Irina's skill. She is more appreciated by colleagues and theatrical audience, it is hard not to admire the variety of genres of her paintings and the characters of her heroines.

Reincarnation is the main "horse" of the actress. It should be noted that she began her career with heroes of the opposite sex. She was trusted to play boys and men on stage, and in the cinema the role of Goebbels remains the most significant work. Moreover, the woman appeared in this image twice - in the film "Moloch - Goebbels" and in "Wolf Messing: who saw through time".

In the movies, Sokolova played irregularly, sometimes with breaks of several years between filming. But when she was not seen in the frame, the woman broke the standing ovation. Of course, she is more of a theatrical actress and brought the brightest images to life there. She devoted most of her career to one team at the St. Petersburg Theater for Young Spectators.

Personal life of a great actress

Irina Sokolova,the actress, whose personal life has always been under the "veil of secrecy", remains ruthless towards the representatives of the yellow press. The woman divulges almost nothing of her family circumstances. Information on this subject leaks in the form of separate insignificant facts. So, it is only known that the great actress acquired only one child in her entire life. And her daughter has already given her two grandchildren.

In her interviews, Irina never talks about her husband and is generally reluctant to leave the theatrical "plane" in conversations in public. But it is known that the actress violently suppresses any attempts by her daughter and granddaughter to follow in her footsteps. And both girls at one time were ready to take such a step. But Irina does not hide that she considers her career a great sacrifice and does not advise anyone to repeat it.

The brightest movie role

In addition to standing ovations on the stage of the Theater for Young Spectators, Irina showed herself no less brightly in the cinema. Her work on the screen colleagues and critics appreciated especially well for one of the most successful roles. We are talking about the film "Moloch" by the Russian director about Hitler and his mistress. The secondary character Goebbels, played by Sokolova, clearly strengthened the film.

In 1999, Alexander Sokurov filmed this dramatic film in German with the financial support of five countries. It is unlikely that its name tells a wide audience then and now about something. But sophisticated connoisseurs of cinema and critics, of course, appreciated "Moloch".

Events of the Second World War the director placed Hitler in the Alpine "lair" and took the heroesjust one day. A bold tape with such heroes allows the performers of roles to apply all their skills in the frame. Irina Sokolova was no exception among them. With experience playing male roles in the theater, she easily coped with the image of Goebbels and delighted the audience.

Now Irina has already celebrated her 77th birthday.
