The future poet was born in the family of a seller of one of the village shops and a collective farm worker. The salary of his parents was small, so the boy had to earn extra money as an assistant foreman, a local extra.
Shaukat Galiev wrote his first poem when he was 13 years old. It was published in the republican newspaper "Soviet Literature". This was the first success of the beginning poet. After graduating from school, Shaukat was for some time a member of the Writers' Union of Tatarstan, the head of the children's circle of the Writers' Union of the Republic of Tatarstan.
