Today there is a wide variety of different models of pistols. Among them, in a special account are such classic examples of firearms as the well-known Colt M1911 and Beretta 92. They are recognized as the standard and are the basis for the creation of many other models. Among them is a unique Czech weapon, the Chezet pistol.

Cz 52. The history of the appearance of the first model

In 1950, the designers of the brothers Jan and Yaroslav Kratokhvilov created the Chezet 52 pistol especially for the Czechoslovak army.

Employees of the Ceska zbrojovka Strakonice plant were involved in the production process. Initially, the first Chezet pistol was designed for Parabellum cartridges with a caliber of 9x19 mm. But later, in accordance with the Warsaw Treaty on the unification of ammunition, the design of the Czech pistol was redesigned for caliber 7, 62x25mm. The transformation of the weapon was carried out by the Czech designer Jiri Cermak in the city of Uhersky Brod. In addition to changing the caliber, the regime was also abolishedself-cocking. After all the changes in 1952, the Chezet pistol was adopted as the Automaticky Pistole Vz / 52. This model was used until 1975.

Design Features

The 52-year-old Chezet pistol is equipped with an automatic mechanism that works on the principle of recoil with a short barrel stroke. Available in the design of two rollers and a slider ensure the locking of the barrel channel. They are located in the rear of the barrel and enter the internal grooves-notches in the casing of the shutter. When carrying out the shooting of all the cartridges available in the magazine, the bolt casing is shifted to the rear position and fixed there using the bolt delay built into the design. The trigger guard at its base has a double-sided barrel lock. As sighting devices, an unregulated front sight and a rear sight are used. The latter is fixed in a groove called a dovetail and provides for lateral adjustments.

Trigger device

The Chezet 52 pistol is equipped with a trigger system, which belongs to the trigger type.

It features single action and safety cocking. The safety lever acts as a lever for safety when the trigger is released from the cocking. It is located on the left side of the frame. The fuse has three modes:

  • firing mode (flag safety lowered to the lower position);
  • safe cocking (safety up);
  • gun is on safety (safety in middle position).

Punchability of cartridges

The muzzle velocity is 560 m/s. Its achievement was made possible through the use of an enhanced charge of gunpowder. Such ammunition creates a high pressure of powder gases in the barrel of the weapon. It cannot be applied to other brands of pistols designed for conventional cartridges, as there is a risk of rupture of the barrel. The use of penetrating cartridges distinguishes military pistols, designed to engage an enemy in body armor or protected by cover. From a distance of 50 meters, a regular Czech cartridge pierces a sheet of steel 0.6 cm thick. It provides a flat trajectory for the bullet. This pistol is suitable for aimed shooting at various distances thanks to the comfortable grip that the Chezet pistol is equipped with.

Features

  • Caliber - 7, 62x25 mm.
  • Barrel length - 12 cm.
  • The length of the pistol is 21 cm.
  • Height - 14 cm.
  • Width of gun - 3 cm.
  • The weight of the weapon without cartridges is 960 g.
  • The gun magazine holds 8 rounds.
  • The color of the weapon is grey. The matte finish is applied by phosphating and black bluing.
  • Bakelite handles have large horizontal notches. With the help of special brackets, they are mounted on the Chezet pistol. The photo below shows the features of the external design of the weapon.

Flaws

Model Cz 52 nowadaysconsidered a rarity and valued as a unique weapon, which has some disadvantages:

  • The presence of strong and sharp recoil when shooting.
  • The brittle steel of the striker is prone to frequent breakage in case of inept use of the gun. Pulling the trigger requires weapon skill.
  • Manual fuse control complicates the operation. Automatic descent of the trigger leads to spontaneous shots, especially in the presence of damage to the drummer. The safety is only activated after manually releasing the trigger.
  • If the Cz 52 is not properly cared for, the barrel may rust.
  • Incorrect heat treatment is likely to cause cracks in high stress areas.
  • The gun is not intended for concealed carry due to the long barrel length.
  • Cz 52 cannot be used for self-defense, because due to the penetrating qualities of the cartridges, there is a risk of hitting third parties.
  • Caliber 7, 62x25 mm is not designed to quickly neutralize the enemy.

Cz 52 is now a collectible weapon and can be used for recreational shooting.

Model Cz 75

In 1975 at an exhibition in Madrid connoisseurs and lovers of firearms first saw the Czech pistol "Chezet" 75. Its design is very popular and is copied in the production of other models. The developers of the pistol design are the brothers Josef and Frantisek Kouchki. Work on the product was carried out at the Ceska zbrojovka factory. The aim of the project was to manufacture weapons for export toTurkey, Iran, Iraq, since the army of Czechoslovakia was already equipped with Cz 52 pistols. Nowadays, Cz 75 is used by major police departments in the United States of America. The model gained wide popularity due to such distinctive qualities as design reliability, shooting accuracy, thoughtful ergonomics and low cost.

Variations

  • The most common version of the Chezet pistol is considered to be a weapon designed for the Parabellum 9x19 mm cartridge - the Chezet 775 pistol. Along with the Glock and Beretta 92 models, it is used by prosecutors and investigators of the Russian Federation as a weapon for personal self-defense.
  • Cz 97. An enlarged version of the Cz 75. The modification of the pistol for 9x19 mm caliber is made for export to those countries that have a ban on military cartridges. Mostly in the United States of America, where this model is very popular.
  • Czech “Cadet”. Training, entertainment or traumatic pistol. “Chezet 75" (Model “Cadet”) is equipped with a set of parts necessary to re-equip the finished weapon to be used when firing 5.6 mm ammunition. These cartridges are characterized by ring ignition.
  • Cz 75 Automatik. Developed in 1992 based on the '75 model. Automatic modification is designed for firing bursts (1000 shots in one minute). Reliable holding of the pistol is carried out using a special mount that performs two functions - itused as a front grip and a spare pistol magazine. Some samples at the very beginning of production had an elongated barrel - a compensator. Over time, this modification of the Cz 75 began to be produced with a standard barrel.

Cz 75 Semicompact. This is a miniature model, characterized by a reduced grip, magazine capacity and barrel length. The pistol is lightweight as it is built around an aluminum frame rather than steel

How does the Cz 75 work?

  • The entire series of pistols is equipped with automatics that use recoil energy with a short barrel stroke.
  • With the help of two lugs, the barrel is locked. There is an interaction between the figured cutout, located under the barrel in the tide, and the bolt lever.
  • High quality steel is used in the frame and shutter.
  • The frame inside has guides along which the shutter performs its movement. Thus, the shutter casing moves along the internal guides, and not along the external ones. This has a beneficial effect on the life of the weapon.
  • The trigger mechanism is designed for double action. On the left side of the frame is a fuse. On the same side there is a lever that performs a shutter delay.
  • The sights are identical to the Cz 52. But unlike theThe 52-year-old "Chezet 75" weapon is equipped with fifteen rounds. Later, the capacity of the pistol magazine was increased by one more round.

What happens when a shot is fired?

The design of the model uses the Browning automation system, which is considered the most reliable and easiest to implement. It is used in the designs of many models of automatic pistols.

  • In the upper part of the barrel there are special protrusions that engage the barrel and bolt with each other. They are set in motion by the action of powder gases during firing. This process appears as a result of attempts by powder gases to push the sleeve out of the chamber locked by the shutter.
  • The bolt and barrel that have moved lower the breech of the pistol, as a result of which the barrel, having come out of the clutch, stops moving.
  • Removal of the cartridge case from the chamber, its ejection and cocking are carried out by the bolt casing. A return spring begins to act on it, which pushes the casing back. Moving back, the bolt removes a new cartridge from the pistol magazine, sends it to the chamber.
  • During the movement of the bolt casing forward, the breech of the barrel is raised, subsequently the barrel and bolt are linked for the next cycle.
