Vyacheslav Grozny: coaching career and achievements

Vyacheslav Grozny is one of the famous Ukrainian coaches. It cannot be called great, putting it on a par with, for example, Valery Vasilyevich Lobanovsky. However, he certainly falls into the list of good Ukrainian coaches. Vyacheslav Viktorovich was born in 1956 in the Khmelnitsky region. For some time he played in little-known Soviet clubs as a midfielder.

Coaching career before the collapse of the USSR

Vyacheslav Grozny became a coach in 1985, when he started working in the complex scientific group of the Dynamo Kyiv football club. A year later, Grozny was invited to the coaching staff of Torpedo Zaporozhye as one of the head coach's assistants, and a year later he took the same position, but in Metallurg Zaporozhye, which at that time played in the USSR First League. In 1989, Grozny went to work in a club from Vinnitsa called Niva.

In all four clubs, Vyacheslav Viktorevich did not stay longer than one season. ATthere are no periods in the biography of coach Vyacheslav Grozny when an athlete stayed in one of the clubs for a long time.

Coaching career after the collapse of the USSR

In 1991, the Soviet Union ceased to exist. At that time, Grozny worked at the Niva football club. He remained there until 1992. In 1993, the coach did not work, as he decided to take a short break.

1994-1995 season Vyacheslav Grozny started at the coaching staff of Spartak Moscow. In the capital club, Vyacheslav Viktorovich worked for a total of 5 seasons. In 1996, after two seasons, he left the club, but in 1999 he returned to Moscow again and worked here for another three years, as Romantsev was appointed to the post of head coach of the Russian national team.

Grozny was a coach at Dnepr Dnepropetrovsk in the 1996-1997 season. and in a Bulgarian football club called "Levski", where he became the best coach of the championship. Grozny was forced to leave the Ukrainian club. One of the Dnipro players was doping before the matches of the Ukrainian national team in the selection for the 1988 World Cup, and this was the reason that the Football Federation of Ukraine banned Vyacheslav Grozny from coaching in the country for life.

The start of a new coaching career

After Grozny left Spartak Moscow in 2002, a new stage in his coaching career began. Grigory Surkis decided to cancel the disqualification of Grozny, and in 2002 the coach headed Arsenal Kyiv,where he successfully worked until 2004.

After two seasons in Kyiv and receiving the title of the best coach of the Ukrainian championship in 2002, Grozny returns to Zaporozhye and becomes the head coach of the local Metallurg football club. A season later, Vyacheslav Viktorovich suspended his coaching career and began working as a methodologist at the Football Federation of Ukraine.

During 2007, Grozny shared his experience with young novice coaches, advised teams, lectured and worked as a football expert on one of the Ukrainian football TV channels.

In 2008, Vyacheslav Viktorovich Grozny resumed his coaching career, heading Terek Grozny. Photos of coach Vyacheslav Grozny appeared in many sports publications. In Russia, they even said that the Ukrainian coach would again be able to win the country's football championship. But this did not happen. In the fall of 2009, Grozny decided to terminate cooperation with the Grozny club ahead of schedule. The reasons for the termination of the contract were problems in the family and he alth.

A year later, the coach returned to Arsenal Kyiv, and a season later he left for Kazakhstan to coach Tobol. In the Kazakh championship, "Tobol" took 6th place and left the Cup of the country ahead of schedule.

In 2012, Grozny was appointed to the post of head coach of the Hoverla team. After its disbandment, he left for Dinamo Tbilisi.

Achievements

Working at Spartak, Grozny won the Russian Championship 5 times. For the first time the team won in 1994, two years later they won again. Since 1999, Spartak has become the national champion three times in a row. After Grozny and Romantsev left the club in 2002, Muscovites failed to win a tournament for 14 years.

In the 1996-1997 seasons. and 2005-2006 Dnipro and Metalurh reached the final of the Ukrainian Football Cup. In 1996 and 2002 Grozny was recognized as the best coach in Ukraine, and in 1998 in Bulgaria.

Despite the fact that Grozny coached only a few seasons in Vinnitsa, he managed to discover a large number of players who became famous. Among them, Nagornyak, Gorshkov, Kosovsky and Nadula should be noted.

During his first appointment as head coach of Arsenal, Grozny could see the talent of Oleg Gusev. Over time, Oleg was able to become a legend of Dynamo Kyiv and the national team of Ukraine. Gusev played for Ukraine in 2006 at the World Championship, where he scored the decisivepost-match pen alty against Switzerland, which allowed the team to reach the quarterfinals of the tournament.

During his coaching career, Grozny brought up such players as Andrey Bogdanov and Dmitry Chygrynsky. The second became the star of Shakhtar Donetsk and moved to Barcelona, but due to an injury he could not gain a foothold in the Catalan club.
