Grandmother's cemetery is located in the North-Eastern district of Moscow and occupies more than 11 hectares of land.
Basic information
The necropolis was founded in 1913 near the town of Losinoostrovsk, later renamed Babushkin. In 1960, the territory entered the administrative border of Moscow and was included in the list of capital cemeteries.
Next to the churchyard is the temple of the martyrs Adrian and Natalia, founded around 1914-1916.
A special place is located at the site number 10 on the left side of the central alley - a mass grave of soldiers who died during the Second World War.
Burials
Many famous personalities are buried at the Babushkinsky cemetery. Among them is the People's Artist of Russia - Vadim Zakharchenko. This is a famous actor who played in such famous films as Resident's Mistake, Quiet Flows the Don, The Lost Expedition. In total, he has more than 150 roles.
Here are the graves of Heroes of the Soviet Union:
- Kuchumov Alexander Mikhailovich - Major General of Aviation, on whose account more than 200 sorties;
- Grishin Alexei Nikonovich - Lieutenant Colonel, who made 378 sorties. Also he wasparticipants in about 50 air battles, thanks to him, 13 enemy aircraft were shot down at the end of the war;
- Shcherbakov Arsenty Arsentyevich - lieutenant colonel who led the preparation and crossing of the regiment across the Dnieper on October 2, 1943.
Today, the Babushkinskoe cemetery, intended for related burials, belongs to the State Unitary Enterprise "Ritual". Address: 129347, Moscow, Yaroslavskoe shosse, property number 52.

Grandma's cemetery: how to get there
It is more convenient and best to get to the churchyard from the VDNKh metro station. Walking to the final destination will be problematic, so it is advisable to use public transport.
When leaving the metro station, you need to wait for the bus following one of the routes: No. 172, 136, 903 and 244. You can also take the trolleybus No. 76. For those in a hurry, we recommend using the services of a fixed-route taxi at number 675.
The necropolis is located on the Yaroslavl highway, and it is simply impossible to drive past it. The large area of the churchyard looks very modern and comfortable.
