Description of vulture curly
There is a curly griffon (see photo below) quite rarely, not every year; most often on the stumps of lindens, maples, beeches, chestnuts, oaks from mid-August almost to the end of September, so the time for picking such a mushroom is limited.
You can recognize the ram mushroom by numerous fleshy, shapeless-wavy, small(about 3-6 cm in diameter) caps, wedge-shaped narrowed into a stem. The upper part of the legs and the underside of the caps are covered with a spore-bearing finely tubular layer; the color of the outer surface, depending on the degree of illumination, varies from gray-greenish to gray-pink tones. The central stump is thick and short. Secondary legs are flat, grayish or cream when dry. The pulp is brittle, white, with a pleasant, persistent, rich mushroom aroma and a specific nutty taste.
Mushroom-sheep on the dinner table
On the dining table curly griffin (mushroom-sheep) is an infrequent guest. Only young, not yet darkened mushrooms are suitable for consumption; in adult specimens - bitter and fibrous, a pleasant taste is not preserved. Mushroom ram is not recommended to be eaten raw - heat treatment (boiling or frying) is mandatory. Most often, curly griffola is used in cooking as an additional ingredient and is a component of soups and sauces, as well as an excellent filling for dumplings; such a mushroom is original as an independent dish. To prepare a seasoning used when sprinkling salads, in meat and fish dishes, the ram mushroom must be dried and ground to a powder. Frozen curly mushrooms are very close in quality to fresh mushrooms.
Collection Features
To collect vulture, it is recommended to use a large sharp knife, which is required to cut the fruiting body of the fungus from a tree or soil surface.
Only with careful handling, the griffol curly mushroom will grow in this place for several more years, until the tree has enough nutrients accumulated, and the surrounding conditions will favor growth. Growing in the forest, the mushroom often accumulates fallen leaves, twigs and other debris in the folds of hats, so when harvesting it is necessary to carefully rid it of foreign objects.
