"Our Russia": a biography of a character from Taganrog - Sergei Belyakov

Sergei Yuryevich Belyakov is one of the first bright characters of the popular Russian sketch show Our Russia. The image of the character reveals the essence of many Russian men who sit on their sofas in front of TV screens and comment on every bright event from the world of news, sharing their "expert opinion". It is this image that Sergey Belyakov, a home commentator from Taganrog, conveys. He sits and communicates with the TV, as if with a living person. Sergei is a typical Russian man, about 40 years old. He is very lazy and pessimistic, watches TV while sitting on a red couch, and often gets into arguments with TV announcers. Belyakov does not care what to criticize, he will do it both during advertising and at news hour. Sergey Belyakov will always find something to add to the announcer's monologue and will always make it sparkling and funny.

Sergei is married to an “elephant”, as he calls his wife, who has obvious problems with being overweight (his wife is the famous actress Julia Sules). Sergei and the "elephant" have a son, Denis, who is fifteen years old. He doesn't study well, smokes behind garages, and quietly drinks alcohol with his narrow-minded friends.

Sergey Belyakov, like most Russian men, does not like oligarchs, high-ranking officials, statesmen, law enforcement agencies (in particular, traffic cops), sexual minorities and modern popular music. He hates Timati, Malakhov, the Safronov brothers and many other annoying representatives of Russian television and show business. He always says that he is a working man, and the whole Russian Federation rests on people like him. However, in one of the episodes, it was shown that Sergey works as a walking billboard, and so, basically, he is unemployed. Belyakov is a real domestic troll, he makes fun of his wife, son and all of Russia.

• Once Sergei Yuryevich Belyakov suffered greatly from the songs of Nikolai Baskov, who came to Taganrog on a tour. As a result of the concert, Sergei broke his arm and leg.
