For his atrocities, Lang was arrested for a long time, but for exemplary behavior he was released after three years. Scott was hired by the company of billionaire Tony Stark (better known as Iron Man). Because Lang was tech savvy, he was assigned to install a new security system for the Avengers superhero team's mansion.
Becoming a superhero
New life in qualitylaw-abiding citizen did not last long. Everything changed dramatically when Scott Lang's daughter was diagnosed with a serious illness. The only person who could help her was Dr. Eric Sondheim. However, he was kidnapped by the supervillain Darren Cross. In order to save the doctor and his daughter, Scott snuck into the home of Henry Pym (the original Ant-Man) and then stole his costume and particle reduction technology. After Scott Lang managed to save the doctor and his daughter, he confessed to Pym that he stole the equipment from him. Pym, in turn, did not become angry, but, on the contrary, allowed Scott to keep the costume for himself, on the condition that he continued to do good deeds. From that moment, the superhero career of the new Ant-Man began.
