Sports biography of hockey player Sergei Aleksandrovich Konkov
Sergey Konkov was born on May 30, 1982 in Moscow. As a child, he was a mobile and active child, he always aspired to the yard to play football or volleyball. At the age of five, Sergei saw on TV how to play hockey. Interest and surprise knew no bounds, because no one had told him before that there was such a sport where the puck was driven from gate to gate on ice. Soon the boy asks his parents to buy him skates so that he can learn how to ride on the ice.
The son's wishes were fulfilled, and a few years later Sergey signed up for the hockey section. For several years, he demonstrated good speed, positional orientation, amazing accuracy, as well as high strength indicators (body wrestling, balance, etc.). As a result, Konkov was noticed by the coaches of the Moscow club "Wings of the Soviets" and, accordingly, invited to join them. Here he played for the farm team (reserve; 3rd roster) and showed good results. The player's professional career began in 1999, when he moved to the base of the Krylya Sovetov club.
First transfer moves
The next game season was marked by Sergei's transfer to the HC CSKA team, which played in the Major Hockey League. Here he playedthroughout three seasons. His statistics for this period were as follows: 56 points in the 131st match played. In the 2002/2003 season, Konkov had already moved to the legendary CSKA, but played only two games here and signed a transfer agreement with the new club Molot-Prikamye (Perm).
In 2003, Sergei Konkov (see photo above) signed a contract with the Neftekhimik club from the city of Nizhnekamsk (Republic of Tatarstan). Here he became almost the most important player in the team, playing until 2007. During this time, Konkov managed to score 83 points in 214 matches. Sergei was a regular starting player (with the exception of injuries and injuries), who scored in almost every match.
In April 2007, the striker signs a contract with Yaroslavl Lokomotiv, with which they win silver in the Super League, and then in the championship of the Continental Hockey League. As part of the club, Konkov played 174 matches in which he managed to score 83 points. In early 2010, fans and fans of the hockey community were shocked by the fact that Sergei Konkov was leaving Lokomotiv. The club's management considered that it was necessary to return the player back to Neftekhimik Nizhnekamsk, exchanging him for the central striker Konstantin Makarov.
Return to the club "Neftekhimik"
Returning to the Nizhnekamsk club, Sergei continued to pound pucks into the opponent's goal and again quickly won the authority of the leader in the team (in the 81st match played, he earned 48 points). However, here he playeduntil May 2011, after which he signed a two-year agreement with the Moscow hockey club Dynamo. However, the story with Neftekhimik does not end there. Konkov will return to Nizhnekamsk in 2016 and play one season.
Transfer to Dynamo Moscow
As part of the "cops" Sergey Konkov twice achieved success at the Gagarin Cup - a victory in 2012 and 2013. He spent his first season at Dynamo brilliantly and was considered the best attacking line player - 27 points in 47 matches. However, the next season, his role in the team changed slightly: the striker was mostly on the bench, due to poor performance. In 23 matches, the striker earned only 2 points, which is catastrophically low for a professional level. In the playoff stage of the regular seasons, Konkov was more useful - 6 points in 20 matches.
Playing for Lokomotiv Yaroslavl
In 2013, Sergei moved to the well-known Lokomotiv club from Yaroslavl. Here he already played in the period from 2007 to 2010 and was held in high esteem and authority. However, forward Sergei Konkov spent the coming season as part of the “locomotive”, frankly speaking, badly – 9 points in 27 matches. Despite such a misfire, he quickly rehabilitated himself in the playoff series matches against Dynamo (Moscow), in which he had recently played. In this fight, Konkov scored two goals and became the hero of the match. Sensational victory "Loco" knocked out"cops" from the tournament, who were two-time winners of the Gagarin Cup.
The next team in the tournament bracket was "SKA", which Sergei Konkov scored three goals, providing a crushing victory for his club. Such triumphs, unconditionally, poured bright colors into the life of a talented striker. He still has a lot ahead, he definitely still has something to shine on the ice. How events will develop, only time will tell, but at present we can safely assure that this hockey player is capable of much.

Konkov played for the Russian national ice hockey team in the Euro Hockey Tour tournament in the 2006/2007 season. This is an annual international tournament that has been held since 1996 as a preliminary preparation for the upcoming Winter Olympic Games. Four states take part in the Euro Hockey Tour: Russia, Sweden, Finland and the Czech Republic. Here, the striker managed to earn 5 points in 9 matches.
Unfortunately, due to the great competition, S. A. Konkov was no longer called up to the national team of the country. Throughout his career, the player has played over 370 games in the KHL (76 goals scored), over 690 (155 goals scored), including other leagues.
