There are many museums in the world: some keep the secrets of bygone times, others tell about the plant or animal world, others demonstrate masterpieces made by man. As a rule, museum exhibits should not be touched. But there is an exception to the rule. For example, a museum has opened in Moscow, where you can not only touch, try, but also play with the exhibits.
Living Systems Museum
This is an exposition about a person, his body, his abilities, or, in other words, an educational and entertainment project for a family with children.
But to a greater extent, of course, it is designed for children. In a playful way, here you can learn how the human body is arranged and functions. You can study the physiology of fantastic creatures. And the most interesting thing is that the visitor himself becomes the object of experiments and research. He “communicates with the exhibits”: he jumps, walks on a rope, screams, tastes, sniffs, and even lies on nails. There are several themed rooms where you canlearn everything about your body, spending more than one hour on it. More than 100 exhibits are waiting for you, which are dedicated to living systems of humans and animals. The Living Systems Museum on Butyrskaya is inimitable and unique; there are no other similar museums in our country. If you want to book a tour, please. If you want to experience everything yourself, you can too.
An interactive museum about human anatomy
Two floors of the museum reveal to us the secrets of the human body. There are sections that relate to the physiology and structure of the human body.
Living Systems Museum teaches and empowers:
- watch how the circulation circles work by pumping the pump;
- try to catch microbes along with phagocytes;
- specify your parameters: height, expiratory force, fluid volume in the body;
- compare yourself with an animal by weight and length of jump;
- find out how a horse, shark or fly sees the world;
- see what signals your vision sends to your brain;
- understand how you feel at the height of skyscrapers;
- run through the tunnel with bats;
- lie down on nails like a real yogi.
And this is not all the trials and adventures that await you in the "Experimentarium". You can study everything superficially, quickly running through the floors, or better, thoughtfully, devoting a couple of hours to this. This opportunity is provided by the Living Systems Museum, whose address is Butyrskaya Street, 46.
Five reasons to visit the museum
NataliaPotapova, one of its founders, says that the activities of the educational museum are based on the idea of learning through play, as well as combining visual and auditory perception of the world around us with tactile sensations. Any visitor can become the subject of the experiment. After all, each of the people is a complex and thoughtful living organism.
And so every child, and even an adult, has reasons to visit the Living Systems Museum:
- Disassemble a person by organs, and then reassemble. Not everything is so simple in our body, and children spend a lot of time here, carefully disassembling and assembling their own kind in detail.
- Find out how difficult it is for people with disabilities. Experience the difficulties that these people face every day. You can try to move around in a wheelchair, or you can listen to the radio "through a straw." The museum is conveniently equipped and accessible to people with disabilities.
- Lie on nails. And you can try on the balls, and find out which is more convenient… Feel like a real yogi. Not only children, but also adults love to experience such an extreme. There is always a representative of the museum nearby, because the experiment is not the easiest.
- Dig up the skeleton of a primitive man buried in the sand. It's so exciting, especially when it turns out that this is the skeleton of a mermaid that has lain at the bottom of the sea for hundreds of years. Children are amazed to see a mermaid tail instead of legs.
- Ride a bike and then turn around andlook at yourself in the mirror. It was not you who rode the bike, but … your skeleton. This is how our musculoskeletal system works! Toddlers can be scared, but school-age children are interested in watching their movements.
"Living Systems" (Museum of Man in Moscow) is actually striking in the abundance of exhibits. And there are, of course, not five reasons to visit it, but much more. Each family will find for themselves the most informative department, where they will stay for a long time and will look, study parts of the body or the structure of the whole organism.
Most interesting exhibits
Everyone likes something different, but the most memorable:
- Glass cube meter per meter. How many children will fit in there? When you get there, then decide. Turns out it can fit a lot…
- A huge ice block, artificially created, on which you can leave an imprint of your hand.
- Color corridor that changes color shades depending on the lighting. Nearby there is a room without light, where you have to go in the dark. And the walls are different to the touch: the sensations are also different.
- Cylinder room with bats on the walls and a swinging bridge under your feet. This is already a test of the functioning of the vestibular apparatus.
What next? You need to see for yourself. The Living Systems Museum continues to amaze again and again…
Mystical creatures, how do you live?
The museum has zombies, mermaids, vampires, dragons, gargoyles. Allyou can see them on the stands.
With their help, you feel like you are in a fairy tale and find out how this or that creature will behave in unusual conditions. To do this, you just need to press the buttons on the stand. Plus, additional information about strange creatures. Or maybe they do exist? Some of the children are scared, but some believe that they are real.
And here is another strange creature - a motor homunculus that meets everyone at the entrance. And do not be afraid of its disproportionate size. It shows which parts of the body are given "more space" in the cerebral cortex.
Educational programs
In addition, there are science and entertainment shows, workshops and educational programs, which provide an opportunity for the development of the children who participate in them.
You can watch one of the four shows that are held here. How do real magic tricks look not from the stage, but when you are nearby? The magician guesses the card, pulls out a coin from the child's pocket and does other tricks that are simple at first glance, but so interesting for children. Would you like to attend master classes? They are various here, for example, "Get your DNA", "Dig it".
You can get to a lesson in biology, zoology, ecology. As one of the options - "I want to become a doctor", where they teach to provide medical care. Tired? Then go ahead, to the Pro-Nutrition show, which is also very educational. So the choice is yours. Topics change and can be viewed on the museum website.
What guests sayMuseum?
Every day the Living Systems Museum awaits and greets guests, reviews of which are the most positive. Museum guests, especially the little ones, are delighted with the exposition. They listen, look, touch and taste. In a playful way, unobtrusively and cheerfully study the structure of their own body. Learn how humans differ from animals. Study fairytale creatures.
Noise, trampling, surprised exclamations and laughter reign in the halls. And if the child is tired, then you can relax and have a bite to eat in the cafe, which is located on the ground floor. Share your impressions, and run - through the most interesting or yet unexplored places.
Adults, on the other hand, believe that before visiting a museum, a child should be prepared in advance. Describe how the human body is structured. This will make him think, and the exhibits will help to comprehend the story. A trip to the museum gives "food" for thought to adults as well. They are surprised that the structure of the human body can be shown so correctly, skillfully and sometimes hilariously.
