Control and supervision over the implementation of punishments in the Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation is carried out by the Federal Service for the Execution of Punishments (FSIN). They are subject to a number of requirements, including the position of stars, emblems and other elements.

Shoulder straps of the Federal Penitentiary Service

Each employee of the penitentiary service is obliged to wear, along with uniforms, shoulder straps corresponding to his special rank. A certain ranking is typical for both the army, the police, and the FSIN service. In general, the location of the FSIN shoulder straps is pretty standard.

Ordinary employees have no special distinguishing elements. For the rest, the characteristic insignia remain asterisks and insignia, the number of gaps and their location, as well as the size of the stars (higher ranks in the FSIN system have large stars on shoulder straps, while the rest have small ones).
