After winning the national selection, they started talking about her not only in Germany, but also in Europe. With no musical education, Lena easily overtook more talented singers.

Even before Eurovision, she was considered a favorite. The video clip for her song Satellite for the final of the competition was watched by about 17 million people. The girl's victory was also predicted by the Google search resource. Since Germany is the sponsor of the Eurovision Song Contest, the performers representing Germany at the contest automatically qualify for the final, bypassing the semi-finals of the contest.

At Eurovision Lena Meyer-Landrut won the unconditionalvictory, gaining almost 250 points. For comparison, Turkey, which took 2nd place, earned only 170 points. Home, in Germany, the girl returned as a star. Her first album, released immediately after the contest, sold 500,000 copies.

Eurovision 2011

Few artists participate in Eurovision again. Winners return to the competition even less frequently. But the organizers decided that Lena Meyer-Landrut deserved to represent the country again. The girl herself happily accepted the offer.

This time only Lena took part in the selection, and the audience got the right to choose the song with which she will represent Germany. According to the voting results, the composition Taken by a Stranger was chosen.

This time the singer Lena Meyer again got directly into the final of the competition, but now as a winner. However, she failed to repeat her previous success. Although the audience warmly supported the singer in the hall, she could only take 10th place.

Further career

After an unsuccessful performance at Eurovision 2011, Lena's popularity began to decline. But she still makes music, improves her vocal abilities, and also writes songs herself.
