Biography
Lamar Odom was born on November 6, 1979 in New York. His childhood was quite difficult. His father is an avid drug addict, and his mother died of cancer when the boy was only 12 years old. As a result, his grandmother Mildred took up his upbringing.
The first three years he studied at Christ King Regional High School, where his love for basketball was born. However, here the guy did not take root. Then he changed several more educational institutions: in Troy (Redemption Christian Academy) and New Britain (St. Thomas Aquinas High School). In his younger years, Lamar played on the same team with such famous American basketball players as Elton Brand and Metta Peace.
In pursuit of education, Lamar Odom entered the University of Nevada at Las Vegas, but very soon became the epicenter of a scandal in which he was accused of violating the rulesinstitutions. From 1999 to 2003, Odom was a member of the Los Angeles Clippers. He played well on the team and was named to the NBA All-Rookie First Team.
From 2003 to 2004, he played for the Miami Heat club along with American basketball player Dwyane Wade. However, later Lamar Odom and two other players from the same club were replaced by Shaquille O'Neal.
