At all times there were pets, for some reason left without owners. Such animals can stray in packs and be aggressive. This is especially true for dogs. With the development of the media, a large number of reports of attacks on people began to appear. They say a dog is man's best friend. However, if the owner, for some reason, could not take care of the animal or simply abandoned it, it can get angry at everyone and attack a person in search of food. In this regard, more and more people began to appear who call themselves dog hunters. They are opposed by animal rights activists. Doghunter is a man who kills dogs. It is necessary to deal with the situation and understand whether the society of dog hunters has the right to exist. Also, for example, the situation with people killing wild dogs will be analyzed. But who is a doghunter? How can these people kill and poison animals for no reason?
Dog hunters oppose stray dogs of any breed running through the streets of the city. But what is the fault of the animals that were abandoned by their owners?
Definition
To the one whoseEnglish is even at an elementary level, it is easy to guess that a dog hunter is a dog hunter. Such people began to appear quite recently. The dog hunter community is growing. Most often, they poison dogs with poison, which will be discussed below. Numerous opponents of this movement are trying in every possible way to interfere with the activity of killing dogs, but some people's opinion about the work of dog hunters remains completely opposite.
Goals
After we figured out who the dog hunter is, you need to find out the goals of his cruel behavior, or rather, the goal. It is extremely simple: killing wild dogs that can harm society. Of course, there are other methods, but this one is the most effective. In addition, it cannot be argued that the dog hunter kills absolutely any domestic or wild animal. Although, of course, there are those people who are especially cruel, and therefore they poison and torture all our smaller brothers.
Reasons
It all started with the fact that at the beginning of the 21st century, a program to sterilize stray dogs began to be implemented in several cities of the Russian Federation. She was supposed to replace the trapping of pets that ended up on the streets. Scientists, like many residents, were against this introduction. However, the program began to work only in 2008, and in most cities it stopped due to a number of problems that arose due to the fact that the number of stray dogs not only did not decrease, but also increased. True, in several regions the sterilization program is still operating. Catching dogs in these cities is alsoprohibited by law, which is not to the liking of many residents.
The emergence of a movement in Russia
People dissatisfied with the sterilization program began to unite in groups of dog hunters in 2007. There was a real fight with animal rights activists who insisted that it was unacceptable to resort to killing. Several independent sites were closed. Nevertheless, the not very successful opposition to the doghunters could not prevent the spread of the movement. And already in 2010, the site “No to Pests” was created, on which even today there is communication between people involved in the persecution of stray dogs. Thus, the doghunters united.
Opinions for bullying
Many citizens are in favor of continuing the activities of dog hunters, since wild dogs can kill a person. Residents of some cities are afraid for their children. There are places in Russia where people are afraid to let the kids go out alone. A large number of wild dogs gather in packs and often attack residents in search of food. Therefore, often people themselves call dog hunters for help, who solve the problem, albeit not in the right way, according to many, but in an effective way.
Opinions against community activities
Most residents, as already mentioned, consider this way of solving the problem with wild dogs unacceptable. Many share the opinion that it is necessary to find a way out of the situation with homeless animals, but not by such means. Bullying can hardly be called a humane way. Where better to send a stray dog for treatment and then transfer to a shelter. But there are severalfacts that hinder the implementation of such an undertaking.
- It costs a lot of money. There are no sponsors who would pay for this procedure throughout Russia.
- Lack of specialists, for example, people who would catch wild dogs. Again, this requires large sums of money.
Statistics
It has been proven that people who became criminals most often killed and maimed animals in childhood. For example, every third pedophile hated dogs and mocked them. Killers in 60% of cases in childhood beat dogs or cats. 85% of teenagers who broke the law in relation to the person also treated pets cruelly.
Make no mistake
As already mentioned, a dog hunter is not a killer of all animals. The organization is solely against stray dogs. If a person tortures other animals, and even more so domestic ones, then he cannot be attributed to this community. On the other hand, violence breeds more violence. And someone who has tortured dogs is theoretically more likely to pass on to other living beings, even humans, than anyone else. So it was with the Dnepropetrovsk maniacs.
From dogs to people
In the summer of 2007, there were several murders in Dnepropetrovsk. Caught in the course of the investigation, Viktor Saenko and Igor Suprunyuk were called Dnepropetrovsk maniacs by the media. They are known to have killed 21 people.
For a whole year and a half they tortured and killed dogs and cats. Their abuse was filmed. But that wasn't enough for them, theybecame maniacs and no longer hunted dogs, but people.
As you know, it all started with the fact that classmates decided to overcome their fear of blood. Needless to say, they did it. They killed their victims most often with improvised devices. Much of this was filmed on camera.
One of the videos has leaked to the Internet. One of the criminals on it expressed bewilderment how a man could survive after the maniacs tortured him with a screwdriver. But these terrible people are not dog hunters.
Description of dog hunters
Many people, as already mentioned, consider absolutely all animal killers to be doghunters. But this is not so, because the representatives of the movement do not enjoy the torment of wild dogs and do not torture them. Also this community does not kill cats. This can be explained by the fact that such creatures will not attack people, they are physically weaker, and therefore do not pose a direct danger to society. Host animals are also not subject to destruction. In relation to them, poisoning of dogs is not practiced. Dog hunters have their own pets that are taken care of. However, there is still the possibility of poisoning domestic dogs, but only if they eat waste.
Doghunter is by no means an unbalanced person or a teenager. Most often these are adults. Their society is concerned about safety, not destruction of everyone and everything.
Packs of dogs
Packs of wild dogs are incredibly dangerous for city dwellers. Animals huddled in them can tear a person apart. Today regularly come acrossnotes about another attack on people. Also, homeless animals can bite pets and infect them with rabies. This disease is very dangerous for people. In the Voronezh region alone, the number of victims of attacks by stray dogs per year is in the thousands. Fighting the flocks meanwhile is quite difficult. They are extremely dangerous even for stray dog workers. In addition, if a rabid animal is caught, then a large amount of money will be required for its treatment, which the state must allocate. However, due to insufficient funding, dog trapping may not be the only option.
Fighting dog hunters
But even if we take into account the danger that comes from stray dogs, there are those who oppose the movement. Some people are simply negative about bullying, while others are zealous in defense of dogs. Many believe that the problem needs to be solved, but not through methods such as murder or harassment. For example, Olga Markelova, the founder of the only mongrel dog owners club in the northern capital, put forward a proposal to combat dog hunters through education among pet owners, which follows:
- do not take dogs out without muzzles (this applies to crowded places);
- follow the rules for walking pets;
- train your dogs.
This is the right approach, because it is necessary to solve the problem at the root. But what to do with abandoned dogs?
The way to solve the problem
Olga Markelova also spoke aboutanimal rights activists. She said that it is necessary to find a compromise, and by no means impose love for stray dogs on the population. We need to look for sponsors who would allocate money for the creation of shelters and other similar institutions. The majority of Russians share the same opinion.
Poison
But how do representatives of the movement condemned by many see a way out of the situation? And what do dog hunters poison dogs with? Due to the fact that poisons are prohibited in Russia, these people use a variety of drugs in large dosages. Isonicotinic acid hydrazide is one of the most common methods. If it is not dangerous for humans (of course, in small doses), then even a small amount can be fatal for animals. What do dog hunters poison dogs with, besides this drug? Various means, especially toxic for these animals. The poisoning effect affects the assimilation of pyrodixins by brain cells, which leads to death. Metoclopramide is also often used, but only as an adjuvant. A dog poisoned by it will feel unwell only after an hour and a half. Lack of glucose and poisoning with components leads to death. However, the animal dies painlessly. The poison of dog hunters is still a terrible thing.
As you can see, different substances are used for poisoning. And doghanters do not always use poisons. Photos of the tools used by the service can be found in the public domain on the Internet.
How is this happening?
A pack of isoniazid is whatthat has with him almost any doghunter. Foods such as half-eaten bars, sausage, sandwiches will be deadly for dogs if stuffed with pill filling. One of the dog hunters described his way of poisoning dogs in a blog. You buy several small pies, eat one yourself in front of a homeless animal, put a pill in another and give it to a four-legged tramp. An effective way, given that dogs are extremely trusting animals. Doghunters who do this are terrible and cold-blooded killers.
Protecting your own pet
A person who keeps dogs at home cannot be 100% sure that the poison used on the streets will not reach their pets. You need to have protection with you. Here are the drugs and items that must be in the first-aid kit:
- 2 packs of 5% Pyridoxine Hydrochloride solution (each pack contains 10 ampoules, 1 ml volume);
- 2 large syringes (10ml each);
- 4 packs of activated carbon;
- "Enterosgel";
- 2 enemas (douches): one for rectal use, one for oral use;
- Furosemide or Lasix.
Doghunter Day
On January 13, 2010 dog hunters from St. Petersburg, due to the growing threat of African swine fever, carried out a mass shooting of stray dogs in one of the districts of the region. It is this date that is now considered the "professional holiday" of the dog hunter, albeit unofficial. And todaysuch mass shootings continue. Many people take part in the celebrations, and not necessarily the dog hunters themselves. A photo of such an event is presented above.
Attributes
It is interesting that dog hunters are often quite we althy people. Dmitry Khudoyarov introduced a fashion among his like-minded people to go to the next "case" in black jeeps. It all happened due to the fact that the pedigree dog hunter was severely crippled by stray dogs. Then Dmitry got into his SUV and shot off the offenders with an air rifle right out of the window. A dog hunter is thus a person who destroys stray dogs in this way.
Conclusion
Until a humane way is found to combat the increase in the number of stray dogs, the ranks of the movement's adherents will grow. Animal rights activists oppose dog hunters, but so far not very successfully. If animals continue to attack people, there will always be those who will try to eradicate the problem in the most cruel way. Until various shelters and institutions are built in which dogs would be treated, the dog hunter movement will continue its activities. But for good purposes, big money is needed, and for this someone must become a sponsor: either a private organization or the state.
