Career start

Lewis was born in 1985. At the age of 11, he started karting, like most Formula 1 drivers. In 2001 he took part in the Formula Renault winter series. Hamilton drove four races and finished 5th overall without winning a single medal.

Debut and championship

In 2007, in his first race, Hamilton won bronze. Everyone was shocked by the debut of the Briton. But that was only the beginning. The 16th Grand Prix of the season, which took place in China, was a disaster for the athlete. The pilot was unable to finish the race and made it much more difficult for himself to fight for the champion title. In the last race of the season, in one of the corners, Hamilton's car stalled. He ended up finishing in seventh place, which prevented him from becoming F1 champion in his debut season.

But the Briton didn't have to wait long for the title. The very next season he was able to win Formula 1. After winning in Australia, Lewis finished 5th in Malaysia, he was 13th in Bahrain. After that, he was able to return to the podium. The rider took 3rd, 2nd and 1st places in Spain, Turkey and Monaco, respectively. After retiring during the Grand Prix in Canada and 10th place on the stages in France, Hamilton was able to win 4 podiums, 2 of which were gold, in five subsequent races. Lewis got his last victory in the championship season in China. 98 points allowed the Briton to win the overall standings.

Second and third championships

The next five seasons did not work out for Lewis Hamilton. He finished the season three times fourth and twice fifth. In just 5 seasons, the racer was able to win 13 victories. In 2014, Hamilton was able to regain the Formula 1 title.

Australian Grand Prix Lewis couldn't make itto the end, but then won 4 victories in a row. At the sixth stage, which took place in Monaco, Hamilton became the second. In Canada, he failed to finish for the second time of the season. Then there was the Austrian Grand Prix, where Lewis Hamilton won the silver medal. Another victory was obtained in their native UK, followed by 3 third places. In Belgium, the Briton again left the track, but then he was able to win 6 stages out of 7. 384 points made Hamilton a two-time Formula 1 champion.

A year later, he won Formula 1 for the second time in a row, with 10 victories. In two seasons, the Briton has only once failed to reach the podium, if you do not take into account the races in which he did not finish. Last season, the Briton won 10 stages and became the second in the standings. This year Lewis Hamilton is in 2nd place after 4 stages.
