Matthias Sammer is a German professional ex-football player and coach. Between 2000 and 2005 engaged in coaching. The last time he worked as a sports director of the Bayern Munich club. Matthias Sammer (see photo below) was born on September 5, 1967 in Dresden, East Germany (now Germany). He began his football career at the age of nine with Dynamo Dresden in 1976. Playing for Stuttgart

Thanks to the same reform, Borussia became the German champion in the 1994/95 and 1995/96 seasons and the owner of the UEFA Champions League in 1996/1997 (defeating Juventus in the final with a score of 3-1).
Retirement
After winning the Champions League, Matthias Sammer's career was interrupted by a severe knee injury, which was the reason for the imminent end of his career. The German defender made three more official appearances for the Bumblebees before he retired in 1998.
Coaching
In 2000, he began working as an assistant coach at Borussia Dortmund. In July of the same year, he was accepted as the head coach of the "bumblebees". From 2000 to 2004, he managed to bring the club to the first line of the standings and secure the championship in the German Bundesliga in the 2001/2002 season. Here Sammer brought his team to the 2002 UEFA Cup final, in which Borussia 09 e. V. Dortmund lost to Feyenoord 3:2. Between 2004 and 2005 worked as head coach at Stuttgart.
