In Russia, even the most unenlightened people know about the dashing 90s. Those times passed through the fate of many inhabitants of our country, forever changing them. The arbitrariness and power structures of the country did not bypass, passing through itself and high-ranking officials. "Lawlessness" is the perfect definition of the 1990s. Few undertook to resist robbery and lawlessness, risking their own lives. Among them was Yuri Skuratov, who has served as the Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation since 1995.

Biography

Yuri Ilyich was born on June 3, 1953. Yuri Skuratov, whose biography begins in Ulan-Ude, went to school in his native city and graduated from it in 1968. Then there were student years in Sverdlovsk, where the young man studied at the institute as a lawyer. Five years later he graduated, but decided to continue his studies in graduate school. Soon he defended his PhDdissertation.

Then he served in the Russian army for two years, Yury Skuratov served in the special battalion of internal troops. After demobilization, he returned to the university, where he had authority. Here he began to teach, and also became an assistant professor and dean of the faculty. Very soon, Yuri Skuratov becomes a professor, having defended his dissertation. It is noteworthy that Yuri Ilyich was the youngest Doctor of Law in the USSR.

Moving to Moscow

Yuri Skuratov, whose book will further shed light on the lawlessness of the 90s, had to break through to higher positions. Already in 1989, Yuri Ilyich was noticed by the apparatus of the Central Committee of the CPSU, where he took the position of consultant, lecturer and deputy director of the department. Skuratov quickly began to climb the career ladder. It was Skuratov who had the most chances to take the position. He worked hard at the research institute until 1995, after which he was transferred to the post of Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation.

Dashing 90s

90s of the last century have firmly entered the history of our country. The period is often designated "dashing" and has a characteristic specificity. At that time, it was not new to see non-compliance with the law, violation of law and order, and so on. Moreover, arbitrariness was also happening in leadership positions. Yuri Skuratov also joined the small number of employees who showed integrity and did not break the law. It was Skuratov who initiated many investigations into corruption in various leading organizations. His integrity also encouraged other intelligence agencies who participated in the investigations.

High-profile investigations and conflicts

In all its glory, the confrontation was not revealed until 1998, until the collapse of the GKO pyramid, which was well-known at that time, happened. The collapse created a severe economic crisis.

Yuri Skuratov led a large-scale investigation, the purpose of which was to identify high-ranking officials whose names were involved in fraud with GKO. A huge number of employees who were in power in the country in those years fell under suspicion.

Skuratov is known for another criminal case, which has not been forgotten so far. The prosecutor ordered the opening of a criminal case, the reason for which was the laundering of large sums of money by officials through banks in Switzerland. Many newspapers and broadcasts reported that officials from Russia received sums of money from companies that were supposed to start the restoration of the Kremlin.

Compromising evidence and further activities

In March 1999, one of the TV channels showed material on which Yuri Skuratov entered into intimacy with 2 girls. A month later, the prosecutor was suspended for the duration of the investigation. Despite the fact that the act cannot be called criminal, a case was initiated. It indicated that intimate services acted as a bribe. Yuri Ilyich claimed that the record was a fake. There were reasons for that. The quality of the recording left much to be desired, and they could not prove that it was Skuratov on it. After leaving office, he runs for president, but is expected to lose the election. Few wanted to vote for a hero whose recordings were still on TV. Today, Yuri Skuratov is a member of the Central Committee of the CPSU, heads a department at the RSSU, and also heads a number of legal structures.

Private life

Yuri Skuratov's wife Irina is an engineer-economist. There are two children in the family who followed in the footsteps of their father, becoming lawyers. The eldest son's name is Dmitry, he studied in the capital at the Faculty of Law, today he is the head of the Marshall Capital fund. The youngest daughter Alexandra teaches at the Moscow Institute of International Relations.
