People's needs are a complex topic that social scientists have been researching for quite some time. And this is really interesting, because our desires are often the root cause of various actions. By studying this issue, it is possible to identify causal relationships in human behavior.

There are many ways to classify needs. Even the school course of social science today involves the study of Maslow's pyramid. It allows you to clearly structure all the needs of people.

The meaning of this scheme is to divide all human desires into spiritual, biological and social. All of them are characterized in a certain way. The pyramid is schematically depicted in the form of a triangle divided into three parts. It is based on the biological needs of people. These include, first of all, the need to satisfy the feeling of hunger and thirst. In addition, the biological need of a person is the need for clothes and a roof over his head, the desire for procreation, and so on.

Only by satisfying the needs listed above, a person thinks about social. Only those who are fed, shod, dressed and have the opportunity to sleep in their own home will strive to communicate with other people. The social needs of people are the need for social recognition, for success in social activities.

Interestingly, for some individuals, communication with others is much more important than primary needs. This, however, is rare.

At the highest, third level are spiritual needs. This means that, roughly speaking, after eating his lunch and chatting with a friend on the phone, the individual begins to feel that he wants to create, engage in self-development, and become enlightened. These are the highest human needs, which manifest themselves only under certain conditions, for this you need "soil".

But there may be exceptions. After all, history knows many examples when artists bought canvas and paints with their last money instead of buying bread.

There are other ways of dividing into groups of human needs. For example, they can be spiritual and material. First of all, each of us needs hearty food and warm clothes. However, at the same time, we want the dish to look beautiful, and the clothes to match our aesthetic taste. Thus, material needs can be both natural and cultural.

At the same time, two large groups of needs - spiritual and material - are also very closely connected. For example,to write music, you need musical instruments, paper, pens.

Needs can be classified in several other ways. For example, they might be:

• Customized. In other words, this is what is required at a certain moment by a certain individual. For example, now someone dreams about eating strawberries or sleeping for 2 hours.
• Group. A goal is sometimes important to several people at once. For example, in one of the houses the heating was turned off. All residents will be interested in the administration repairing the heating system.
• Important to the whole society. For example, this is pure water. The problem of environmental pollution today is incredibly relevant. For this reason, everyone today is interested in making water suitable for drinking.

As you can see, human needs can be very different.
