The term "preventive measures" means a preventive (prophylactic, protective) action. It is used in various areas, for example, in economic activity they are called measures aimed at reducing risk and its impact on the result; in international law, these are joint actions of a community of states aimed at preventing threats to the planet, disruption of order or manifestations of aggression. In the armed forces, this concept demonstrates military power, which can combine with other states to maintain peace and security.
However, most often preventive measures are used in insurance, they are taken in advance according to a set forecast (the probability of occurrence is calculated for a certain time interval). There is even a classification of measures by risk factors, by purpose and other criteria. Within each type, there is also a division into groups.
Thus, according to the goal, protective measures are distinguished aimed at preventing an accident and at mitigating the consequences if the event did happen. According to the level of decision-making, they are state-owned (legal regulation, mechanismstate security, the formation of a material and technical reserve, etc.); regional (legal regulation and financial reserve in the region, training of people, protective structures, rescue teams, hazard monitoring, etc.). Preventive measures at the collective level influence the authorities to protect against natural risks; at the individual level, the necessary knowledge about safety is acquired and the decision is made to live or not in a dangerous territory.
In addition, preventive measures are divided into groups: reducing risk
areas (re-profiling, decommissioning and disposal of hazardous facilities, the fight against crime, etc.); reducing the threat to the population and the environment (optimal location of housing complexes and other household facilities in a safe area, sanitary zones, eviction of people from polluted and unfavorable areas).
All measures to achieve the invulnerability of items are designed to enhance durability, improve safety efficiency, reduce damage from an accident (timely organization of emergency rescue operations).
In general, we can say that preventive measures are the creation of such conditions under which emergency rescue services, stocks of materiel, everything necessary for evacuation measures are maintained in readiness. This should also include the organization of systems for providing people with vital items, products and means.protection.
In insurance, preventive measures are actively practiced in order to prevent insured events. At the same time, not only the insurance company must ensure their implementation, but the insured himself is obliged to do everything in his power to protect himself from accidents, acting as if his property was not insured.
