In the valley of the Vyatka River in the north-east of Russia is the city of Kirov. It is located in the European part of Russia and is the cultural, historical and industrial center of the Urals. More than half a million people live in Kirov. Kirov is divided into four administrative districts: Leninsky, Oktyabrsky, Novovyatsky and Pervomaisky.
Leninsky district is the most densely populated. It contains many infrastructure facilities, including schools, kindergartens, 7 universities, many colleges and vocational schools, libraries, cinemas, a puppet theater, a circus, a diorama, stadiums, shopping centers, thousands of enterprises. In the middle of the last century, Novovyatsk was a city in the Kirov region, and in 1989 it was annexed to the city of Kirov, becoming the Novovyatsk region. There are several factories and combines on the territory of the district.
In the Pervomaisky district of the city of Kirov is the historical part of the city. One of the most picturesque corners of Kirov is located on the territory of the district - the Green embankment and the Alexander Garden adjacent to it.
