The Kotelniki station was launched in 2015 and became the 197th stop of the Moscow Metro. With its launch, the mayor of the capital expressed the hope that it would be much easier to travel to and from Moscow, and that stopping points in the southeast direction would be unloaded. The station is located near Moscow Kotelniki. It is the last one on the Tagansko-Krasnopresnenskaya line.
History
The idea to build the Kotelniki station was born back in 2012. Moscow Mayor S. S. Sobyanin entrusted this mission to his deputy M. Sh. Khusnullin.
In October 2012, the first work began in the Zhulebino area and to the Kotelniki station. The interval of the site was 900 meters. Built by open method. The station platform is 374 meters long. The opening of the Kotelniki station took place on September 21, 2015.
Stages of construction
The construction of the station took place in several stages:
- In the autumn of 2012, survey work began,a construction site was fenced off, equipment was brought in, and the necessary change houses for metro workers were installed.
- In the winter of 2013, the construction of the station point began.
- In the spring of 2013, the laying of the concrete foundation of the station began, the left-hand tunnel from Zhulebino was laid.
- The right-hand tunnel was built in the summer of 2013.
- In the winter of 2013-2014, all work was suspended.
- In February 2014, work resumes. The main part is completely concreted.
- In the spring and summer of 2014, all work is in full swing. Electrical is being carried out.
- In autumn-winter 2014, work is being completed, pavilions have been completed, interior decoration has been completed.
- By the spring of 2015, the finishing work is moving into the final stage.
- In August 2015, a trial train was launched. The running of the tracks begins.
- In September, the triumphal opening of the Kotelniki metro station took place.
Architectural details
Station "Kotelniki" refers to the type of shallow laying. It is laid at a depth of 15 meters. The configuration resembles "Zhulebino", differs from it in a more "brilliant" design style, the presence of round columns, a flat ceiling. The station floor is lined with red granite stone.
The station hall is finished with granite and marble. The color palette is filled with light gray tones, in harmony with the decorative steel elements.
The station has two vestibules,placed underground. They have two exits. The northwestern exit is located at the 6th microdistrict of Zhulebino. East direction exit leads to Novoryazanskoye Highway.
There are three escalator lines in the west lobby, and four in the east. There are elevators for people with limited mobility.
The station used some of the latest technology, which is later planned to be extended to other metro points. These include:
- Vending machines with drinks, desserts and snacks;
- equipment for wrapping umbrellas in bags;
- Settings for reading contact bank cards.
Were also equipped with devices for recharging mobile gadgets, but due to the actions of vandals they had to be eliminated.
Numbers
13,200 people used the station on the day it was launched.
By the spring of 2016, the flow of passengers increased to 41 thousand people.
At launch, the station was:
- one with access to three cities simultaneously (Kotelniki, Lyubertsy and Moscow);
- second outside the administrative line of Moscow;
- the second one with access to both Moscow and the region.
The length of the segment Zhulebino - Kotelniki is 1.53 km.
Meaning
The construction of the station helped to reduce the passenger flow on the Tagansko-Krasnopresnenskaya line. Thus, the Moscow government is working to optimizetransport equipment for the south-eastern districts of Moscow and the Moscow region.
The Moscow government has actively assisted in the launch of the new Kotelniki station, the opening date of which we have previously announced. Moscow Mayor S. Sobyanin is actively cooperating with the regional governor A. Vorobyov.
The opening of the metro station "Kotelniki" is a joint successful project of the Moscow government, as well as the leadership of the region for the development of transport. As part of this project, new roads are being built, interchanges are appearing, suburban roads are being reconstructed, and new highways are being built.
The Moscow government expresses the hope that this station will not be the last one opened in the Moscow region. New metro stations are planned to be opened.
