Adam Anderson is a keyboardist and guitarist who plays in the famous British duo Hurts. He composes music in his spare time. Prior to creating his own band, Adam worked with the Daggers, which consisted of five people.

Biography

Adam Anderson was born on May 14, 1984 near the city of Manchester, England. The future singer lived in a country house with 16 dogs and about 15 hectares of land. The boy's father worked as a milkman for thirty years, after Adam admits that he wanted to follow in his footsteps. The artist's grandfather was also a musician and played an instrument such as the banjo (a type of resonator guitar), and occasionally played in the Royal Orchestra.

Besides Adam, his younger brother grew up in the family. In his interviews, the musician will say to himself that he had a difficult character in childhood, and at the age of fifteen he left home.

Adam Anderson was seriously fond of football and had good prospects, but after a complex leg fracture, he had to forget about his sports career. It was difficult for a teenagerrealize that he will no longer be able to play his favorite sports game.

At the age of 16, the young man became interested in poetry, he had not yet experienced much interest in music, but, having purchased the OK Computer album from the Radiohead group in the store, the guy thought about the stage. At 20, he bought a guitar and a recorder. After creating a couple of test compositions, Anderson realized that he wanted to devote his life to music.

On his 21st birthday, the aspiring musician received a piano as a gift, the guy mastered the instrument in just a week.

Adam Anderson created his first band together with keyboardist Scott Forster, but devoted too little time to music, as he studied at the university and worked part-time at the racetrack, where he filmed greyhound races on camera.

Creating a Daggers group

In early 2005, Anderson met Theo Hutchcraft. Together, the guys create their own joint group Bureau, but because of the chosen name, the famous English band Dexys Midnight Runners threatens to sue if Theo does not change the name.

Under duress in 2006 Bureau was replaced by Daggers. The team expanded to five members and made music such as rock, synth-top, new wave, electronic and disco house.

Over the next two years, the band members released two singles:

1. After Midnight, the single was a top hit on radio station XFM for a long time.
2. Money/Magazine was nominated for the Popjustice £20 Music Prize despite not charting.

In September 2008, Adam Anderson, whose photo was the main one on the posters for performances, brought his team to London to perform in an advertising review. Six months later, the Daggers group is noticed by the famous producer Richard Stannard, who begins to engage in PR for the team and organize performances.

On January 30, 2009, a post appeared on the MySpace social network on the official page of the group, which said about the breakup of Daggers.

The creation of the duo Hurts

After the collapse of the previous team, Theo and Adam create their own group, and three months later the whole world will know about these guys. The sensational Wonderful Life video is released, which will gain millions of views, and after the duo admits that only twenty pounds were spent on the video.

In the list of the most promising groups of the music company BBC's Sound, the duet of Theo and Adam was in fourth position.

The band has released three studio albums to date (release date in brackets):

1. Happiness (September 6, 2010) - the album consists of 11 songs, the famous Australian singer Kylie Minoung took part in the recording of one of the songs.
2. Exile (March 11, 2013) - consists of 12 tracks, the title track of the album is the track of the same name. Released under RCARecords record label.
3. Surrender (2015) is the latest, third studio album to date.

Private life

Today, the musician is not in a relationship, although he is already 33 years old. The only thingwhat the press knows is that Adam Anderson and Emily Rumbles dated between 2012 and 2015. This whole time the girl worked as a dancer in the group Hurts.

During their relationship, Adam Anderson and Emily rarely appeared in public. According to the latest reports, the couple broke up.

Adam Anderson himself does not particularly like to talk about his personal life in the media.

Adam very often shares his tastes and hobbies with the press.

Once he admitted that he is an ardent fan of the famous English team "Manchester United", since childhood, his favorite player is Wayne Rooney. If you look closely at some photos of Adam Anderson, then, oddly enough, you can see a great resemblance.

In 2010, the German magazine Musikexpress Style Award ranked Hurts 1 in its list of the best foreign music artists in 2010.

In 2011year the guys won in the category "New Best Group", and a year later "Best Video". Also in Germany, the duo was awarded the Shooting-Star television award. The 2011 Hungarian Music Awards also went to Theo and Adam.

For the sensational song and video, the group received four awards, among them the most significant is the victory in the category "Best Foreign Song of the Year". In addition to all the awards, this composition brought a lot of fame to the team, and the video scored millions of views.
