And after all, what is interesting: we know that this is an absolutely useless exercise, and we still write out "triple sheepskin coats" in the air. But this same moth butterfly does not do any harm to our things stored in cabinets. It's all the fault of her caterpillar! Let's talk about that.
To hit or not to hit?
The winged moth is an insect (the photo shows it in all its glory), which does not cause any harm to humans, because it does not eat anything at all. Her orderly withered little body is slightly heavier than air! And one more thing: the passion for fluttering is inherent in males, but not in females. The fact is that the latter are somewhat heavier than males due to their fertility. If you saw a plump woman crawling along a closet or wallmoth, then, having killed it, take the life of a hundred future insects, but you will not protect your wardrobe. The same applies to males: by slamming him, you still won’t win any victory. In general, this applies to all butterflies, because insects that look like moths are not moths at all, and they do not eat clothes!

It is curious that close relatives of the creature we are discussing live in rose bushes, inside apples and even … in the hooves of buffaloes! Of course, this is not about the butterflies themselves, but about their caterpillars, which cause enormous material damage to humans.

Caterpillars pretty badly spoil not only our clothes, but also our nerves… As soon as they are born, they start building their own house - tubes. The building material for this is fast-hardening silk threads. They extend from the mouth of the caterpillar, which is provided with certain spinning glands. When the silk house is ready, it is camouflaged from the outside with the help of hairs bitten by this creature from our fur coats and jackets, on which it settled. And now we move on to what, in fact, the moth is dangerous.
Insect begins to destroy wool. For 3 months of its fruitful life, this creature becomes 400 times heavier than its original weight! She is afraid to go far from her home, therefore, when there is no living space left on her clothes, she simply lengthens her tube. If the caterpillar does not like the new fabric, it will move to another place. No wonder they say that moth -insect with character! This "journey" is very slow. The caterpillar creates a semblance of a ladder, attaching a silk thread to the right, then to the left and crossing it. By the way, not a single caterpillar is interested in clean clothes at all! Give her food-stained and sweat-stained suits!
Continuing the theme of the reversible nature of this insect, it should be noted that the moth is a pampered creature. She hates heat, cold and light. Therefore, fur coats and other clothing, as long as they are worn, are not in danger. And only in the summer, when we send such things as unnecessary to the closet, the moth begins to act! Therefore, any clothing that is at rest for a long period should be stored in sealed bags.
