The Constitution of the Russian Federation is the highest state law, therefore the day of the Russian constitution is a memorable date for the inhabitants of our country. On this day, December 12, 1993, the basic law that is still in force today was adopted.

The Constitution of Russia is the main legal document of the country, which enshrines the principles of the state structure, defines the structure of government, defines the rights and freedoms of citizens. All state and social life, based on the norms of justice and order, is spelled out in this document. The main document of the country is periodically amended, and now the country lives by its latest version.

Historical review

The first attempts to create elements of the constitution in Russia can be considered during the reign of Tsar Vasily Shuisky, whose power was limited to the "kissing record". But only a century and a half later, documents with constitutional content began to appear.

Despite the fact that Empress Anna Ioannovna was limited by "conditions", to talk about any serious laws,regulating at that time the way of life in the Russian Empire, is not necessary. Having subjected to repression almost all freethinkers in the Supreme Privy Council, Anna established an absolute monarchy.

Another attempt to introduce a constitution was already under Catherine II. The famous writer Denis Fonvizin and a member of the diplomatic corps Nikita Panin proposed this in 1773. Unlike Anna Ioannovna, Catherine II, having learned about this, did not repress anyone, she even thanked the figures, but that was all.

Later, already Alexander I himself was thinking about introducing a constitution in the country, but still abandoned this idea. Under him, a little later, the Decembrists demanded to adopt the basic law, following the example of the neighboring Kingdom of Poland. How this attempt ended is also well known.

And only under Nicholas II the first version of the similarity of the modern basic law was adopted. This manifesto was called "On the improvement of the state order." Before its adoption, it was changed several times and was finalized in April 1906. In fact, it became the first constitution. It did not last long, until the revolution of 1917.

After that, the country's constitution was adopted and rewritten many times.

The current Constitution of the Russian Federation

It is worth noting that the adoption of the basic law is an important milestone and an indispensable component in the history of the civilizational development of any state and its people. In 2018, the holiday, the day of the Russian constitution, will be celebrated on Wednesday, 12December. Compliance with the articles of the constitution ensures such behavior of society, which leads to the development of the standard of living of both the individual and the state as a whole, contributes to the spread of the country's influence in interstate relations.

In the history of the current Constitution of the Russian Federation, several facts can be distinguished:

• acceptance - December 12, 1993;
• entry into force - December 25, 1993;
• the main copy is stored in the Grand Library in the Kremlin Palace.

So why is the Constitution Day holiday important for Russia? The answer to this question is to be found in our history. As soon as the main provisions of the constitution, in one form or another, were forgotten, turmoil, civil strife and bloody civil conflicts began in the country. When the understanding came that it was time to stop the bloodshed, a representative institution from different sections of civil society gathered and adopted the basic law by which they had to live in the future.

In the history of the modern constitution of the Russian Federation, several periods and interesting facts can be distinguished:

• in the period from 1993 to 2005, this day was not only considered a holiday, but also a day off;
• the modern basic law of the country has more than a thousand authors;
• her birth lasted about 3.5 years;
• in one year, from 1991 to 1992, about four hundred amendments were made to the constitution, the author of fifteen of them was the first President of Russia - Boris Yeltsin;
• Recently, in connection with the renaming of regions, more than tenamendments;
• at the inauguration, the President of the country takes an oath, I lay my hand on any copy of the basic law, regardless of the year of publication and its quality;
• in the text of the main law of the country there are no borrowings from foreign languages, it is written in Russian words;
• twice the Constitution of Russia was able to visit space. In 1999 on board the MIR station, in 2005 on board the ISS. In total, she spent 329 days in orbit.

It is impossible to lose the memory of the document, the adoption of which made it possible to smooth out the troubled period in the modern history of Russia and begin moving towards a society of mutual respect and understanding. Of course, this did not happen immediately, but the gradual evolution of civic consciousness and laws based on the main document of the country made it possible to maintain the unity of the country.

The future of our Constitution

There is no doubt that the Constitution of the Russian Federation is not a static document, and changes will still be made to it, but this will be an evolving process. As the practice of any of the states of the Earth over the entire known period shows, a gentle movement forward is the most effective and painless process. Revolutionary outbursts, whatever their cause, led to the abolition of constitutional provisions.

And as a result, both civil society and the country were thrown back along the evolutionary stage. Sometimes the state simply ceased to exist.
