From biography
What is known about the artist? Stephen Moyer was born in the English city of Brentwood in 1969. After graduating from St. Martin's School, he entered the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art. After graduating, Stephen worked in the theater for the next five years, and then decided to try himself as a film actor.
Career
Stephen Moyer made his feature film debut in 1997, starring in the action adventure Prince Valiant. Ron Perlman and Katherine Heigl were the partners of the novice actor in the frame. Critics did not particularly like the film, but some fans of adventure and historical films liked it.
The actor played the next important role in his career in the historical melodrama "The Feather of the Marquis de Sade". The main roles in the film went to such Hollywood stars as Geoffrey Rush, Michael Caine and Kate Winslet. The film was awarded several prestigious film awards and was even nominated forOscar.
In 2001, the adventure picture "Robin Hood's Daughter: Princess of Thieves" was released, one of the key roles in which was played by Stephen Moyer. The filmography of the actor was replenished with another adventure film. The main character, the daughter of Robin Hood, was played by young Keira Knightley, and the role of Prince Philip went to Stephen Moyer.
In 2010, the actor played in the thriller "Open House". The film marked the directorial debut for Andrew Paquin. The film received little critical acclaim as it was not shown in theaters. One review read: "The New Home is well above average and is a successful calling card for director Andrew Paquin that will surely get him noticed in Hollywood."
Inspired by the success of the mystical thriller "Legion", director Scott Stewart has started shooting another dark post-apocalyptic film - "The Shepherd". Stephen Moyer was approved for the role of Owen Page, the brother of the protagonist of the picture. Despite the sharp rejection of the film by critics, the audience, as often happens, liked the film as a whole.
True Blood
In 2007, producer Allan Ball hit on the idea of filming Charlene Harris' vampire novels. Anna Paquin was chosen for the role of the main character of the new series, the telepathic girl Sokka Stackhouse, and Stephen Moyer received the role of vampire Bill Compton. It was thanks to "True Blood" that all lovers of horror films learned about him. The series received several awards, the most significant of them being the Golden Globe, which Anna Paquin won for Best Actress, and Moyer won the Saturn Award for Best Television Actor in 2011.
The artist has appeared regularly in the television series throughout all seven seasons. A photo of Stephen Moyer as Bill Compton can be seen below.
Further career
After finishing work on "True Blood", the actor works mainly in television. The exception was the noir "Detour", in which Stephen played the role of Vincent. Directed by Christopher Smith, who previously directed exclusively thrillers and horror.
The sci-fi TV series The Gifted, which is scheduled to premiere in the fall of 2017, has already been confirmed to star Stephen Moyer. The films of the X-Men series were a success with the audience, which inspired Bryan Singer to create an entire television series dedicated to people with unusual abilities. Whether this series will be better or worse than the original franchise is hard to say.
Private life
In August 2009, Moyer became engaged to actress Anna Paquin, who played with him in the television series True Blood. The actors have been dating since 2007, since the filming of the pilot episode. Anna Paquin and Stephen Moyer got married in August 2010. The couple has two children, twins Charlie and Poppy. The family now lives in Los Angeles.
