Today, the arms market offers a wide range of different models of small arms. Judging by the numerous consumer reviews, the Glock-19 pistol is very popular with connoisseurs. Since 1988, this model has been used by the police and the army in many countries. Information about the device and performance characteristics of the Glock-19 is presented in the article.

Introduction

The model is a self-loading pistol from the Austrian arms manufacturer Glok. This company has created a whole series of rifle firearms, which are widely used in the Austrian army. The first version of the pistol was presented by the Glock-17 model (photo below).

The gun was created specifically for the Austrian secret services and army officers. The specificity of their activities involves carrying firearms unnoticed by prying eyes. However, due to largethe dimensions of the Glock-17, it was problematic to do this. As a result of small design improvements, a new model, the Glock-19, entered the arms market. Hollywood brought fame to Austrian weapons: they were often used during the filming of films. The excellent fighting qualities of the Glock-19 are appreciated by the owners of pistols.

Description

Unlike the early sample, in the "Glock-19" the bolt casing is reduced. The length of the shortened barrel is 102 mm. In addition, the changes also affected the pistol grip. Ammunition is carried out from stores designed for 15 rounds. However, the Glock 19 can still load the magazines used by the 17th and 18th models.

About production

High-precision casting is used in the manufacture of the shutter for the pistol. Then the product undergoes a special treatment, as a result of which the valve receives anti-corrosion properties and high wear resistance. For barrels and bolt casings, a special coating is provided - "tenifer". As a result of this treatment, the metal receives high strength at a depth of 0.05 mm. On the Rockwell scale, the strength index is 69 units. The frame is made of high quality heat-resistant impact-resistant plastic.

About design

The Glock-19 is designed in the same way as other models from this series. The exception is the 25th and 28th models, in which the automation works on the principle of a free shutter. ATModel "Glock-19" automation uses recoil with a short stroke of the barrel. The shutter opens as a result of the skew of the barrel in the vertical plane. During this process, the shaped groove and the pistol body interact with each other. The location of the groove is the breech barrel. The shutter is locked after the rectangular breech enters a special window for the extraction of spent cartridges. The Glock-19 is equipped with a percussion-type trigger mechanism: it is provided for partial cocking and re-cocking after each shot.

About fuses

The gun is equipped with three automatic safety locks. The place for one of them was the trigger. This fuse blocks it. The hook is released only after pressing it directly. The second fuse prevents unplanned firing in the event of a striker failure. The third locks the drummer until the shooter pulls the trigger. Manual safety locks are not available for this pistol model.

About sights

Front sight and open sight. The place to install the front sight was the upper part of the bolt casing, and the sight - a special groove, which weapons specialists call the "dovetail". A luminous dot is provided for the front sight, and a frame in the form of a luminous frame is provided for a rectangular slot. This makes it possible to effectively use weapons even at night.

About the Glock-19C

On the basis of the main model "Glock-19" a modified pistol was created, which is characterized by improved characteristics. Judging by the reviews of weapons experts, during firing, the barrel does not bounce and is not retracted from the line of fire at all. This became possible thanks to the use of a special integrated compensator at the muzzle. It is represented by several holes, the location of which was the upper muzzle of the barrel. These holes correspond to cutouts in the bolt housing near the front sight.
