It often happens that it is difficult for us to define concepts that we seem to encounter, if not every day, then quite regularly. Here, for example, try to continue the phrase: "Loggia is …". What is it really? Big balcony? Then why did they come up with a separate word for it? Surely there must be some difference. This is exactly what will be discussed in this article.

Section 1. Loggia is… We give a general definition of the concept

In general, such an outlandish word came to the Russian language from Italy, and it means a room in which parapets, arcades, colonnades can be used instead of walls.

In principle, we can say that the lexical meaning of the word "loggia" coincides with the definition of "balcony". However, the first one is built among the walls of the room, that is, it serves as a continuation of the room, kitchen, less often the corridor.

The most common loggias were in the architecture of Central Asian and Soviet high-rise buildings. Given the climate of Russia, loggias are quite effective and comfortable as summerpremises. Why not? Although in the modern world, many still consider a loggia and a balcony to be synonymous, let's try to understand these concepts.

The roof is not always available, most often it is just a cover. This part of the apartment is illuminated at the expense of the neighboring adjoining premises.

But the loggia is a part of the building, open inside only on one side, usually the front. Just like a balcony, it can be glazed and unprotected. Due to the fact that it is in an apartment, there are many ways to convert it into a living space, creating, for example, a nursery, a bedroom, a dining room or an office.

As noted above, the lexical meaning of the word "loggia" is rooted in Italy, the legislator of the fashion world, but the art of decorating, according to experts, belongs to the Chinese and Japanese, who were the first to begin to improve this part of the apartment, turning it to the mini-garden.

Where to start? First of all, you need to look out the window and look around at what color the walls of the building are painted, both yours and neighboring ones. Also pay attention to the flowers that adorn the other balconies. All this must be done in order to imagine how the plants will look against the general background.

When choosing flowers that will decorate your loggia, do not forget that they should grow quickly and be unpretentious, the leaves should have a pronounced color, this will once again emphasize the beauty of landscaping.

Do not forget about climbing plants, they can both refresh the design of the loggia and hide not very nice places.
