He is one of the most talented directors of our time. His father was the composer Andrey Yakovlevich Eshpay. His family is one of the strongest in the acting environment. He is one of the few men who loves his stepdaughter as much as his own daughter. So, let's get acquainted, Andrey Eshpay.
Childhood years of little Andrei
In mid-April 1956, a son was born in the family of a venerable composer of the Soviet Union, named Andrei in honor of his father. Dad, being a man who breathes music, from the first days of the boy's life tried to develop in him a sincere love for art. As a child, little Andrei Eshpay knew for sure that cinema and his life would be inseparable.
Years of school after many years seem very easy and interesting. Every memory of them brings a smile to my face. Andrei has always been a very active boy, a restless ringleader. Almost every day he offered his friends to do various pranks. He was lucky that all the teachers were loyal to what the boys were doing. Therefore, almost all the tricks had no consequences for them.
Diligent student
After receiving a school certificate, Andrei Eshpay, whose biography is an amazing mixture of everyday work, recognition and meetings with interesting people, submits documents to the Moscow State Institute of Culture at the Faculty of Theater Directing. He was a very talented young man, capable of learning. Eshpay stood out among his peers with diligence and hard work.
As soon as he received his diploma, he immediately, without delay, applied to another institute. The second document was handed to him after graduating from the All-Russian State Institute of Cinematography. It was a film director's diploma. His talent was confirmed by the fact that the film “Zvana”, which he shot, which is Eshpay's graduation work, turned out to be so good that he won three awards at once at the student festival.
The beginning of the creative path
After the second diploma was received, Andrey Eshpay was engaged in self-improvement for a very long time. And in 1983, he made his television debut with a very successful short film that paved his way to the magical land of cinema.
The next picture, which was shot by a young director, was called "Jester". For the perception of the average viewer, the tape was somewhat heavy, but close to everyone. The picture revealed the idea of complex psychologicaldeviations and social inequality. Thanks to her, the director came under the first rays of fame. It was already a real feature film. The beginning of creative activity was quite successful, and Andrey Eshpay, the director, did not hesitate to continue doing what he loved.
Movie Masterpiece Awards
In 1990, his painting "Humiliated and Insulted" was released. The plot was based on Fyodor Dostoyevsky's novel of the same name. The shooting involved Nastasya Kinski and Nikita Mikhalkov. For a while, the film was criticized, but in general it was received very warmly. The film got to the Venice Film Festival six years later.
The film about a flowering hill in the middle of an empty field was a kind of breakthrough in the technologies of the turn of the century. It was the first film in Russia that was first shot on a digital camera, and only then transferred to film. For such an unusual and interesting course of work, as well as for the contribution to the development of Russian cinema, the film was first nominated and then awarded the Nika award.
The next film masterpiece created by Andrey Eshpay was released in 2004 and was called Children of the Arbat. The 16-episode saga was filmed based on the novel of the same name by the talented writer Anatoly Rybakov. This picture was also not deprived of awards: the "Grand Prix" at the film forum "Together" and the nomination "Best TV series" in the competitions "TEFI" and "Golden Eagle".
The various interactions of the film characters in society and the complex images of the characters were so easy, even airy, that the audience, after watching the saga, they even sent their suggestions and scenarios, according to which it would be possible to shoot the continuation of the story.
His track record includes paintings of various complexity. But, regardless of the genres of his films, the audience perceives each of them with interest, gratitude and delight.
2000ths
For four years, from the beginning of 2000 to 2004, at VGIK, where he has his own workshop, the inimitable Andrey Eshpay, director, taught directing. His personal life, unlike his life in art, was never exposed to the judgment of the townsfolk. It is well known that during this time he managed to bring up a large number of his successors and followers.
A few years later, since 2010, Eshpay stopped being just a director. Now his duties included conducting master classes at the Film School. Despite the fact that this is a truly titanic work, Andrey Eshpay (director) perfectly combines the lessons of teaching the younger generation and shooting his new masterpieces. Personal life continues to remain outside the discussions of the curious.
Family, love, children
With his wife, whom he simply idolizes, Andrey Andreevich met during the next filming process. Evgenia Simonova, a beauty with expressive lake eyes on her thin face, instantly won the heart of the venerable director. The personal life of Andrei Eshpay immediately began to change. He was not afraid that Simonova already had a daughter, Zoya, from her first marriage with Alexander Kaidanovsky.
Young people got married very soon after their first meeting. Despite the fact that the wedding was too hasty, their family life became very happy. At first they raised Zoenka together, and a few years later they had a common daughter, Masha. By the way, Eshpay is one of the few men who loves his adopted child as much as his own.
Today, Zoya and Maria continue the working dynasty of their parents. They are actively filmed in serials and movies. Both realized themselves in creativity. Zoya also has a talent as a pianist, sometimes she gives her own concerts.
