After the second diploma was received, Andrey Eshpay was engaged in self-improvement for a very long time. And in 1983, he made his television debut with a very successful short film that paved his way to the magical land of cinema.

The next picture, which was shot by a young director, was called "Jester". For the perception of the average viewer, the tape was somewhat heavy, but close to everyone. The picture revealed the idea of complex psychologicaldeviations and social inequality. Thanks to her, the director came under the first rays of fame. It was already a real feature film. The beginning of creative activity was quite successful, and Andrey Eshpay, the director, did not hesitate to continue doing what he loved.

Movie Masterpiece Awards

In 1990, his painting "Humiliated and Insulted" was released. The plot was based on Fyodor Dostoyevsky's novel of the same name. The shooting involved Nastasya Kinski and Nikita Mikhalkov. For a while, the film was criticized, but in general it was received very warmly. The film got to the Venice Film Festival six years later.

The film about a flowering hill in the middle of an empty field was a kind of breakthrough in the technologies of the turn of the century. It was the first film in Russia that was first shot on a digital camera, and only then transferred to film. For such an unusual and interesting course of work, as well as for the contribution to the development of Russian cinema, the film was first nominated and then awarded the Nika award.

The next film masterpiece created by Andrey Eshpay was released in 2004 and was called Children of the Arbat. The 16-episode saga was filmed based on the novel of the same name by the talented writer Anatoly Rybakov. This picture was also not deprived of awards: the "Grand Prix" at the film forum "Together" and the nomination "Best TV series" in the competitions "TEFI" and "Golden Eagle".
