From 2013 to 2015, the only woman, the president of the RSE, was charged under Article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (fraud) in connection with the loss of significant amounts from the accounts of the federation. Short biography

Sergey Ivanov headed the VTB League, and Yulia Anikeeva became his deputy (December 2011). The woman's further career will be connected with basketball, which she had not previously played professionally. In July 2013, Alexander Krasnenkov left the post of head of the Federation, and the heroine of this article was appointed acting.

Election of the President of the RSE

The official election of the sixth President of the RSE took place in early August. The fight broke out between Svetlana Abrosimova (63 votes) and Yulia Anikeeva (97). The vote on the recommendation of the IOC was held in secret, but hewas preceded by many hours of stormy debate, during which eminent delegates were divided into two camps. Yulia Anikeeva received support from Evgeny Gomelsky, head of the RBF coaching council, his predecessor Sergey Chernov and ex-coach of the men's team Sergey Elevich.

"Achievements" on post

Why did the case end up in court? The main reason is the conflict that broke out between the Russian clubs and the RSE, which decided to demand fees for the passportization of foreign legionnaires. It was about the amount of 150 million rubles, which the clubs categorically refused to pay. FIBA, represented by Secretary General P. Bauman, sent a letter to the RBF, in which he proposed to resolve the conflict within three days, threatening to disqualify the national team and Russian clubs if the dispute is not resolved.

After the court decision on the illegitimacy of the 2013 elections, Yulia Anikeeva, whose photo is presented in the article, continued her work as acting, remaining in office for another year and a half. During this time:
